I haven’t been in this corner for a long time.
Life is busy, but I’m still working to get my 40, the first 80 and now another all in good working order.
My current project is a wider centered 40 rear.
I had a 40 rear housing (free) laying...
I’m in!
Will likely camp somewhere Saturday night too.
Hopefully by then I will have a new to me Cruiser too. Still have the 100 but it has a lot of needs at this point.
While I start working on the new and old 80s, I’m also making slow progress with my wider-centered 40 rear. I picked up another rear housing with a different plan.
I cut the tubes off an 83mini truck housing and learned that they won’t slide...
Save the date Saturday Nov 5th.
Somewhere in the north end of the Manistee National Forest
If you were there last year give me your thoughts, was it :

As far as length & difficulty, I'd be down for something more challenging but that's secondary to just getting together for the day. Length was great last year.
Does anyone here have a bare - spare 40 rear they can give up for surgery and new life for cheap?
I have a guy who wants $100. Anyone have something for scrap or a bottle of decent hooch (or beer)?
We have yet another addition to our cruiser fleet, and this one runs and drives!
It’s a 96 with less than 190k. The body is ok, the frame is great and nothing too unreasonable to work on.
I already swapped out the wheels and tires after the bath.
I realize this trip may have already happened and I know there are many reasons you may not want to take the LX into Silver Lake, but........one of them is not capability. The stock LX will do just fine on squishy tires and you'll enjoy almost...
Hey Francis, I'm IN Detroit with a 91 FJ80 and I'd really like to get this guy's contact information from ya, as I need all sorts of work done on my LC.
Also mine is a Texas cruiser I brought up with me when I moved, so it has no rust except...
I’m using 96ish 4Runner shafts to get the added width. I’ll weld the tubes based on where the shafts set in the diff.
The bearing ends are all the same.
The last major components for the centered housing build. I’m pointing to thread necked down area where I’ll cut the tubes off for inserting into the 40 housing.
I went to A to Z auto in Ferrysburg today with my son to check out a 2wd 83 mini truck. It has the correct housing so I bought it with pickup scheduled early next week. I can’t wait!
