radiator overflow bottle
Installed new plastic overflow bottle I purchased from EBAY. Pretty good quality bottle, the bracket is kind of cheep. But for 10 + shipping, not too bad. This one is about 3 x 3.5 x 7.5. It comes with a piece of straight hose, I had an old pre-formed bent piece I used for the breather.

Just got done plowing some snow for first time this season!
Finally got tires mounted on my new painted wheels. These are 9.5 x 30 x 15 KM2's.
Spent today on paint prepping the tub...

Took it for a drive for the first time in six weeks. Found a new electrical gremlin, the aftermarket fusible link blows every time I start the truck as the truck starts. But it keeps all power on (ignition, lights, radio...) until I turn it off.
Finding the short should be fun due to an aftermarket secondary fuse block that isn't fully mapped out by me.

Finished up the rear axle...new paint, new brakes, Locker installed. Also got to work on the drive shafts...U-joints are out...and they are painted and looking new. http://kyle-landcruiser.blogspot.com/

I took advantage of a warm late fall day and put my exhaust back together. Open manifolds really are not that cool!
Installed a bumper sticker. It's required here in New Mexico cause 95% of the people that ask about my FJ40 say "Nice Jeep". Barbie drives a Jeep.
I need one of those stickers before I end up in jail for slapping some idiot ....

It's funny at how they admire your FJ40, they look at the Toyota signage on the radiator grill, then they look at you and say, nice jeep!

No point in getting angry.
They're just using the word "Jeep" to describe what type of vehicle they're looking at and they either don't know or couldn't care less that the word they're using is a brandname from a different manufacturer.
We get the same thing here with the word "Landrover" - but mainly only from the older generation because there's nowhere near as many landrovers on the roads here now as there used to be.
(Jeeps have never been very common here although their numbers are building any may even equal or exceed Landrovers number now.)
There's a lot more important things happening in this world to get upset about.
I wouldn't blink an eyelid if someone called my BJ40 a Jeep. I'd just be pleased that they loved it enough to stop and want to talk about it.
