Slightly silly project, but I think it's probably worthwhile - tied in a spare-tire 3rd brake light. I'm often driving down some roads with congested traffic - figured it might be some cheap insurance to maybe prevent a distracted driver rear-ender someday. Only comes on with the brakes, it's off otherwise.

Easily reversed too - I just loomed it it by using a male-female connector passthrough at the left light harness, so it's all plug and play with no cutting.

Best color! Some Rustoleum satin nickel would have that front bumper looking proper in no time 😉
You know, I have thought about it, but it’s got some many random holes and bumps that I keep thinking I’m going to replace it. I keep moving it down the list of things to do on it.

Still working on piping it in. Had an old adapter that fit so we shall see what happens

Keep in mind; back in those days, one (I) was likely running a worn out 1 barrel on an early 1F, so add convert to a proven GM carb (oem on the later engine Toyota modeled it after) and a header and tune the whole package up.. yes it felt like more power. (I bought all my pieces used and cobbled together)

I’ve been asked what the parts looked like using the Home Depot Behr spray paint so here are a few pictures. Coated the color coat with the Rustoleum 2X clear gloss

I get it, believe me. I did it anyway 😉

Well that's pretty convincing...

That might look better to me than the Rustoleum Satin Nickel! I guess I should pick up a can and give it a shot.

How many clicks does this e-brake have before it tops out? I have a Lokar handle in mine and it only has 6 clicks, and I need more.
I will need to check, I am still breaking mine in so I need to recheck the rear parking brake shoes for proper fit (tight and then back 8 or 9 clicks, slight drag). I did tighten the adjustment nut for the cable and now my parking brake is holding.

Went out to get gas and seen another 40. A rare occurrence in southeast indiana.

Love the South American hard top, the integrated venting is great for this time of year.
Very cool to catch a cruiser in your area you dont know. I now have people who I know ask me about ones they see in the area and its comical as I know most of them.

I did as well. Came in Thursday and it's installed. Seems to be great quality . The rear corners radius is made into it. Still a bugger to get them right, like wrapping paper around a football! My corners have some wrinkles but ... It's better than what I had. I'm sure someone more skilled than me could make it work.
