What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

I did as well. Came in Thursday and it's installed. Seems to be great quality . The rear corners radius is made into it. Still a bugger to get them right, like wrapping paper around a football! My corners have some wrinkles but ... It's better than what I had. I'm sure someone more skilled than me could make it work.

I’ve done a few of these and there is definitely a “sweet spot” where they fit the best. When I do them, I find that spot then fold the front in half to the back and mark a reference line on the underside of the headliner and the hardtop. I do a “T” so you know center side to side and front to back, then slowly roll the front half back toward the front and mark that center side to side line more. Repeat for the back. May be unneeded but it has helped me keep them where I wanted.

Do you have all the bolts loose? Cap to top sides, top sides to tub, etc. Then, loosen the windshield hold down knobs a little. If the top was completely disassembled, it’s a dance to get it right and usually a bit of compromise all the way around. I usually start at the windshield.

Finished the sound deadening on the rear floorboard and driver side. Still need to spray and roll the inside of the doors and anyplace else I can reach.

Add timber rack ie radio, switches etc as not to meddle the original front panel...try to adjust the height, but the timber rack still a bit low and can be seen front from front windscreen...

The bench top flare tool is great, I just picked one up last week. This also saved the day last week for splicing in a prop valve that used a bubble flare-

Any flare tool that you use is going to require some practice.
I use a cheap manual one and ive done entire cars with it. I get paid hourly so fast tools dont make me more money.
I think i got mine off the Mac truck but its an OTC kit...

Works great, easy to use in small/confined spaces.

For bending, any generic tubing bender.

Pulled my low-miles sparkplugs just to see, cleaned 'em up with the dremel wire wheel.
Adjusted valves while gluing on a new valve cover gasket. Then put it together again.

I doubt I will ever take the top off again but was thinking of getting a tail gate panel and just take the doors off for summer rides.

I'm the same way. I'm topless now because my top has not been restored yet. I do the like the topless ride though. It's like having a motorcycle again.

You know, I have thought about it, but it’s got some many random holes and bumps that I keep thinking I’m going to replace it. I keep moving it down the list of things to do on it.

The rustoleums are a perfect color match. But I did my rear bumperettes with it and they scratch really easy. Not as durable as car paint but certainly meets a limited budget and quickness of applying.
