I think you'd better call the Smithsonian, because they seem to be of the ridiculous belief that:

Furthermore, National Geographic (I know right!?) thinks "petroleum was formed from the remains of ancient marine organisms, such as plants, algae, and bacteria".

I'm changing the look of Olive. I have a new tub for her, but not the time for the project and spring is here! One more rusty season, but I still love driving this truck. I am switching up the look though, because I had stock grey steelies on her and the hardtop (or no top). Now going with gloss black factory steel wheels and a tan soft top. I like the new look so far. Just a few more things to do.

Yes, I have used these for several years. This works fine, just that adding the horn on the fender interferes with the intake.

Making one good Speedometer out of two. When I first got the LV, the speedo worked, but the Odometer only flipped the tenths wheel. I changed out the speedo and that odometer worked fine. Last fall on my way to the Petaluma Landcruiser show/swap meet, the Speedometer took a dump. Yesterday, I decided to tackle the old odometer. Thanks to Pete (Pics45) for sending me back the old speedo head!

I took the Odometer apart and found that it only needed the spindle and all the gears cleaned and re-lubed! Finally a use for the stem grease that's been in my tool box (well, transferred from toolbox to tool box) after 40 years!

I cleaned the numbers as good as I could. 59 years of sun and wear, well earned.

It works!

Yes, York for OBA. I made a bracket for it that mates with the 3FE air pump bracket.

I bought my ‘64 from Casey Campbell last year. He was really sick and has since passed. He was the treasurer of either TLCA or maybe his TLCA chapter. I had it shipped and been a great project mostly within my skill set. Today I received a very heavy box from his daughter. I had no idea what it was or that it was even coming. When they were going through all of his belongings, they decided to send me all of his Land Cruiser memorabilia. Shocked isn’t even the word. I only spoke to Casey a few times, but my heart strings got tugged on a little bit. If anyone has any stories or pics when he owned the 40, I’d love to hear them or see them.

Casey was the Treasurer for the whole TLCA. And he did a great job. He was fiscally conservative, and you could count on him make sure that TLCA stayed solvent. IOW, he didn’t let his enthusiasm for the sport infect his judgment ( not that I’m implying that anyone else did).

Casey did me a huge favor once, dragging a disc brake axle that I bought from a MUD member from Iowa to the Lone Star Roundup in Texas. That was the year of the monster storm at K2. While I hadn’t planned on doing anything with it except dismantling it to put on the roof rack on the Karma Cruiser, the axle was disbursed on site. @KillerPea bought the disc brake conversion parts, @Texican daughter Christie got the 3rd member, and @HENDOG friend Oscar, the man behind PACOL got the steering linkage. Casey got to witness the karma firsthand.

It all seems like a lifetime ago now.

Awesome story. When I bought the 40 last year it was in the Des Moines area, but Casey was in TX I believe due to everything he had going on. There were a ton of parts included as we all accumulate through the years. In the parts was a lot of paperwork. I was actually able to find the guy that owned it before Casey and he sent me pics of when he owned it over 20 years ago.
