Nice SUV!

Whenever people post pictures of there cruisers I check out the surrounding landscaping trees bushes and such and guess if it's local to me, your area looked very familiar. Sure nuf my elementary, middle and half of high school years were in Mill Valley. Nice to know of another local Cruiser head on Mud.

Nice call! Yeah, I grew up on the Peninsula but have been here for almost 30 yrs. Where are you now??

You guys may be too young for this Mill Valley reference… M.A.S.H. tv series… BJ Hunnicutt, who replaced “Trapper” John, had the dream of getting out of the army and buying a house in …Mill Valley. Aside from seeing a few guys here from this area, that’s the only time I’d ever heard of it.

As a child, I got BJ Hunnicutt’s autograph in a Pizza Hut in So Cal somewhere.

Two things stand out here:
- WTF was I doing in Southern California in the 70’s as a child?
- I was versed enough in M*A*S*H that I knew that mofo on sight.
- and 3rd, that’s the only autograph I’ve ever asked for

…Mike Farrell signed or B.J. Hunnicutt? I hear So.Cal in the 1970’s was a hip place to be, especially musically. I wonder if he is still around

Thinking about this now….IIRC, When B.J. Hunnicutt was leaving for good….Hawkeye Pierce held up a sign that read “ Mill Valley” he saw from the helicopter

My M.A.S.H. Trivia:

I grew up in the same town as Jamie Farr.

Much later than him of course. And I’ve only seen him in person once. But still…

Finally got around to replacing the passenger front shock tower bolt. The thread for the bolt holding the shock was worn down and the nut would no longer thread properly. Picked up a replacement set from SOR and swapped it in. Rotated the tires while I was at it and installed a new set of lugs for the front wheels (so they match the rears - don’t ask). 😂

I have the same issue on the passenger side as well. Unfortunately mines on the axle side.

Swapped out steering wheel with a 70 series. I have power steering and the big wheel needed to go. Need to add the pins that cancel turn signal but otherwise very satisfied.

I love the look of those tires! I was looking at tires earlier.

Did a minor tuneup on the 45 in anticipation of an upcoming wheeling trip. Changed out my decade-old ND spark plugs that still looked fine on the inside, but pretty rusty outside. Adjusted the valves (four exhausts were slightly tight). Put on a fresh set of acorns that were gifted to me by @daveb 😊

Looks good. Just to let you know, your shock washers are on backwards.

I didn't DO anything to it.... I bought MORE stuff for another one! Found one hell of a deal with a guy cleaning out his shop of parts. ALL this for $100 ! 😎

I’ll give you $50 for that top now that I know how much you paid for all that.

Funny. One of the reasons I enjoy my 40 is the large steering wheel 😍
