Sounds similar to my tumbler recipe. I add a little “Lemi shine” instead of Zep for the brass. 😁
I didn’t dare use the Zep with this plastic. I think the key with the ultrasonic is the heat.

@Jdc1 Back in the late 1980’s ZEP had a product labeled ZEP-TEEN.. It was a degreaser we used on engines but sold in 55 gallon drums for locomotives. Is this the Zep you refer to? Still available?

Not sure but probably similar- I get it at Lowe’s, it’s the e more aggressive degreaser. Works great on knuckle hardware.

Just out enjoying the late afternoon sun

Anyone want to rebuild and clean my carb? I guess I could do it…some good videos on YT. Weber 32/36
It’s not that big of a deal. You should do it.

Conversely, I have a 32/36 I am willing to part with and have a rebuild kit for it.

I’ll probably just do it to learn and bc I’m cheap. ;-)

I don't know about the complexity of a Weber versus an Aisin, but I just rebuilt this 1970 carb. It's my second one, the previous being an Aisin carb for a 2F/FJ60. With some good instruction, like a manual AND some YouTube videos, it's not hard at all. I had to file down some screwdrivers and you might need a $10 protractor from Ace Hardware to measure butterfly valve angles, but it's pretty easy. Cross your i's and dot your t's every step of the way and you're good.

(There are some nuances in setting the carb up properly, and that's why the usual experts here excel at what they do. Not taking away from them. The basic tear down and rebuild can be straightforward with some patience though.)

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I love the carbs with the glass. Works of art!

@Jdc1
Beautiful work.
IIRC from your original post, you only rehab the early steering wheels?
No love for a 75?
Mule is a ‘76. I’d be willing to rehab to do the ‘75. PM (effing spell check) and we can chat.

I even took the time to buff out that little sight glass with some turtle wax ... I think it's plastic though! Either way I tried to make everything shiny in a DIY way, without sending stuff off to be plated. That wouldn't match the patina of the rest of the 40 haha.

How is that Master Cylinder levitating there? Held up by the brake lines?
You know it’s been a rough week my initial thought after looking at the picture is “it’s attached to the firewall.” Then I realize the issue/ question.

Yeah, lol. Will deal with that tomorrow.
Does that mean you’ll get the body on or remove the MC? 😁

lol- I didn’t feel like dealing with any more mess. It’ll get a new MC and lines. Frame is being torn down, sand blasted and built from epoxy primer up.
