Does anyone happen to have measurements of their VIN plate for the fender or firewall on a 1976 or later FJ40?
Let me know how you make out in getting one for the fender, I am also looking, was supposed to be getting one from Toyota Matt but he never got back to me🙄

This week on Tuesday I placed an order for 56121-90301, OEM Windshield gasket. They must have plenty of those in stock, because yesterday at noon I went and picked it up. Man I LOVE buying brand new factory parts for my 44 year old ride!! 😍 I finally priced glass from a local shop and it was around $220, which I found reasonable, so I am moving a new windshield up my priority list. I just hate to lose the original one with the TEQ stamp in the corner. But between the delamination around the spider cracks on the passenger side, and the repaired chip right in my line of sight, it is time.

My thoughts exactly! Very surprised I could still get OEM windshield gasket at that price, added one to the parts stash recently.
Put OEM cigarette lighter and side marker lights on that list as well.

Will do. Hopefully someone with a VIN plate could snag a quick measurement :-)

Inked1979 40 Firewall VIN_LI.jpg

1) 3.5 inches 2) 2 1/16 inches (between 1/16 and 1/8 to be technical)
1979 40 series firewall VIN not measured by a professional ;)

Finally got the OEM TACH face modeled in CAD then flipped it for the left handed peoples…

I was surprised at how non- semetrical it is. Measurements are within.1mm. Now it’s on to the casing itself.

When this is all finished I’m hoping to create an exact factory copy as well as a OEM looking version that holds a modern tach with custom decal face.
