@thenative1 Wow nice pictures and great rigs! No unfortunately I don’t mean hand over fist, more like consign with Jonathan to sell a 40. He tells you it sells for one price when in actuality it sold for $20,000. more and you find out from the friend of a friend who bought it from Ward. Shady at best...... Sad thing is this person had bought several 40’s from him for years. Not any more.

They are great looking floor mats, very classy!!!

Spent part of this week building a frame to lift the hard top off the tub and mounting an electric winch to the roof of the car port. Before I sold my business I used this winch to move some items that were just to heavy for me yet easy for the winch. Saved my back numerous times.

I removed the hard top and am now in the process of installing the soft top bows.

The problem I am working with now is the brace from the "B" pillar to the windshield frame sits to low to allow the door to close completely. I can raise the steel just behind the door to give clearance but the front at the windshield is still to close.

Any suggestions.

What does the gap at the bottom of your door look like? Could you adjust the door lower?

Or loosen the top body side of the hinge and pull it out farther from the body. There is quite a bit of adjustment just in the hinges.

Like to see the frame/hoist setup for the hard top when you get it completed!

Can't go any lower with the doors.

@imyahucklbrry The frame worked well but I have to make some changes before raising the top later this year. Once I get through with installing the top I can focus more on the frame and once I get it to where I like it I will post a photo or two. BAck in the 70's I used a somewhat similar frame but it attached through the rain gutter and as I look back I can see that wasn't such a good idea. But it worked.

I didn’t exactly work on my 40, but did some prep work to make room for easing work on it. A local cruiser friend had given me a carcass 80 a few months back for parts to use on my wife’s truck.

I started cutting it up to save what I need and get rid of the rest to make room for the work I want to do on my truck.

I may save the frame for another later project.

flip that booster and it'll bolt into a 40. it'll need the input rod shortened and/or a spacer, but you'll have boost to spare if you use it.

I'm running an 80 booster (and master)... It'll easily lock up all four disk brakes on dry pavement with a stab with both fingers to the brake pedal.

After spending all of last weekend working on my transfer case, the brake light switch decided to let go on my way back home. Had one next day from local dealer. I'd share pics of the newly installed switch, but I really don't want to see that thing again for a while...
Getting my hands above the steering column to unplug/plug that thing in was a straight nightmare. Here's a pic of what was causing the problem -

Do you believe 1 kit will do the job for an entire 40 ? I am rebuilding an 80" and thinking of ordering the kit

Pretty close...
Need a few more here and there, but I probably robbed the kit a few times for my other projects along the way. , :)

I don’t know if I posted this before…

I was gonna put it off until I was ready to do my brake conversion to disks which I have already and have the transmission put in first I have, but I put the cart before the horse and purchased a sierra differential install kit . I wanted it without carrier bearings and here’s what I’m going to put in ,
