Got the transmission clutch and 3 on the tree linkage all installed. The transmission was a bear and my body was very sore the next day from moving it around while on the hoist.

I am relocating my stock 1972 FJ40 from Carlsbad CA as a beach cruiser to Heber Valley UT where she will become a cabin cruiser. In doing so the running elevation will go from sea level to roughly 7,000 feet.

Finished this one up, all the way down to new brass butterfly screws and every steel part zinc plated. Well that’s a lie, the slow cut valve rod isn’t - which I need to find a way to remove without breaking the aluminum.
I don’t know. Maybe I need more practice.
I need to step up my game. I should be able to do way more than this so I don’t forget how to do it.

As with all projects I went deeper than I planned. I went in to shim up that radiator support but noticed some coolant weeping from the water pump gasket… well why not pull that too I guess! :worms: I love old machines.
Went to dinner at the fancy sushi place with some high dollar friends who were in town. Amazingly, the 20 something valet drove a stick as his daily.
