Finished pulling all the loose parts from the frame and tub. Big batch to sand blast later this week after inventory.

Pulling tub sometime next week?

Pleasant surprises are ALWAYS welcome

Since it is hotter than the surface of the sun in Tucson, I decided to do some summer maintenance in advance of the fall trail runs. I pulled the valve cover to try and locate what I thought was the sound of valve lifters knocking but instead found no noise once the cover was removed. I decided to polish up the cover.....i do not see that the bolts need to be torqued ... is that the case?

Also pulled all four wheels and found that my front disc brake retainer clip was mangled - replaced it with a nice new one.

Cheers from SW Montana:cheers: Cool, unique rig!
I need to see more on this!

Do you have a build thread or at least some more info and pics?!

Looks sick!

No build thread.
My work is at best B+,
Not worthy of this forum.

I had several parts rigs in back that I put together. 66 FJ45 basket case I bought in pieces, no bed, 78 fj40, 81 FJ60, 69 FJ55.
Took parts off each.
I was inspired by Whitey with the smaller dropside bed.
Used this forum as a instruction manual on “How-to”each phase.
I’ll attach a few pics,
Currently using doors off my 40

@jm599 did you use the 60 axles under the 45? Very nice rig sir! Certainly worthy of this forum. We definitely need more pictures and build specs.

Upgraded the headlights finally. Also got some new hood latches. Now I won't be embarrassed when I'm checking the oil at the gas station cutting zip ties. Also got my Apron emblems in, hopefully now people will stop telling me how nice my "Jeep" is...

I honestly believe that I could paint TOYOTA in 4' high red letters on the side and some idiot would still call it a Jeep. I even had one special idiot ask if I built the mail Jeep myself.
