I picked up my engine from the rebuilder, and installed the bell housing, flywheel, and new clutch. Apparently I threw away the little clips that hold the throw out bearing to the fork. Just my luck. I’m guessing the chances of finding those locally are slim to none.

Should be able to order clips from the dealer or Cruiser Outfitters.
 
I’m case anyone finds this interesting.....the balance report for the flywheel and crank.

Was able to finally get the nerve up to cut, form and weld in my new section of floor. Not sure if it was done exactly right, but it's in and stout. I was worried about gringing down the welds to far, especially on the spot welds. Should I be able to grind everything smooth?

@Oakley40 You can grind some of those welds a bit more, but I would recommend at least in the front section a nice tinted raptor liner. It looks good and hides imperfections.

I've always been curious when to butt-weld, when to lap-weld, and why. Seems like lap welding leaves an avenue for rust to form, but is a far easier to manage technique with less risk of burn-through. Bodywork is in my future - so I'd be interested to hear from the pros when to do what and why.

Not a pro by any means but have had great results butt welding using .023” wire and a magnetic copper backer using 120 volt settings.
 
I see Jeeps driving with spare tire covers with their logo but can't remember seeing a TEQ or Toyota spare tire cover. So I found a TEQ decal on Amazon and applied it today. Not the best job but the best this amateur can do.

EDIT: If anyone knows a screen printer who could make a batch I believe they would sell at a decent price.

Sweet! Keep me updated. Their is a fair amount of my teenage blood sweat and tears in that tub. Will be nice to see it on another cruiser. I remember the pics he sent me of his old tub. Was pretty rusty.

May not be what you are looking for, but here is my reasoning. I had thought about the lap joint and rust issue, but I was more concerned with strength. I figured I could apply something to seal the areas. Being in California affords me a little leeway when it comes to rust.

As you can see I didn't take the floor pan all the way back to the rocker as many suggested. I just didn't see the need to tear all of that good metal out just to replace the bad part that was mainly under the pedals. I made a few tabs in areas that weren't supported to get everything to line up right and add a little strength. Probably not as correct as some, but it worked. For my first time the lap welds and the tabs helped a lot.
 
Well my engine install is on hold waiting for a $2.08 part from Toyota. Of course I can’t just order 1 Part from Toyota, but that’s a different subject. Anyhow....turned my attention to the manifolds. I installed new rings and springs on my freshly ceramic-coated exhaust manifold. The spring and heat riser was rotted, so I decided to replace them with the block off plate from Cruiser Outfitters. I also polished the intake manifold, but technically I did that a few weeks ago.
