Valve cover, plug boot seals were easy except for all the cleaning.

The real PITA was the power steering low pressure hoses. No room to work and everything was covered in nastiness. Busted my hands up real good.

Also removed the speedometer sensor to replace the o-ring. Ended up trying two different sizes from Napa before breaking down and ordering one from Toyota. Will install that tomorrow and take it for the first drive since Monday when I took everything apart.

ALSO, got ahold of the previous owner and found out a little history on this rig. He owned it from 180k and never had to rebuild the engine. Currently at 365k and runs like a champ. 🤞

Got rear ended this morning while stopped. Moved the truck a bit with a strong jolt. She obviously wasn't paying any attention and saw no apparent brake marks at all. Funny part was when we both exited our vehicles I greeted her with a good morning and proceded to look at the damage. Without a thought I told her that I don't really see any damage on my truck so asked if she even wanted to exchange insurance. She immediately said of course like I was trying to get out of something. I proceeded to tell her that you know that you are at fault right? She immediately replies by saying at fault for what?! With a smirk said rear ending a stopped vehicle. She didn't like that answer and continued looking at her damage. Then says "why did you stop?!" Simple answer was there are 3 cars stopped in front of me before the light. Damage to hers was cracked headlight, bumper and grill. I didn't see anything other than marks on my bumper but planning on getting underneath and taking some measurements to check if anything moved. I already feel tightness in my midsection and shoulders. Hopefully will not get any worse.

Anyone have a link for front sway bar end link bushings? I've searched but am only finding the center bushings. Thanks!

Never ever walk away without a police report on a collision, even if it's your fault. This covers you for legal purposes later on. Also insurance companies use them for fault. Don't be surprised if the person that hit you tried to tell insurance you were road raging and purposely slammed on the brakes.

I got hit twice in the same day. Once in the front and once in the rear. Both times I was stopped. I refused to move until an officer saw the positions and told us to move.

At fault for driving a range rover 🤣 🤣 🤣

I would have immediately called an ambulance, laid down on the sidewalk, and started rolling around moaning and groaning.

Yeah, the accidents I've been in, it only took one time for a cop to tell me to "...stay where you are until another officer shows up to mark the spots. I don't care if you're blocking the freeway, it's to help you out."
Since then, my happy a$$ stays right where the car is until an officer tells me it's OK to move.

Not good wiring on this v8 swapped 80.

This was an expensive swap for the customer, shop unknown to us. Wires were/are just ran everywhere, no loom, a tangled mess. They didn’t even bother the shrink the classic double splice. Pathetic.

Unfortunately we need to clean this up since we are doing a full HVAC system restoration.

Cheers

Not surprised at all, her driving a Range Rover. I probably would have had the same initial reaction and response as you did. However, if she wants to get all snippy about it, I would let her have it.

Showing the lx450 some love this past week. Trying to get it ready for a few long trips this year. All fluids were changed and finished up this storage/ sleeping system.

the storage platform is made of ply wood covered with a layer of yoga mat and Home Depot carpet. The objective was to have a platform I can configure with one two or no rear chairs depending on if my sons are with me or not.

Finished up an interior restoration of my 80. New leather covers front and back from Lseat (mixed reviews), removal and deep clean of the original carpets, headliner and plastic/vinyl interior panel scrub down, new radio with backup camera to finally retire the original tape deck. It’s almost like a brand new Land Cruiser inside now!

Any tips or tricks that you'd be willing to share for removing and reinstalling the headliner? I may need to drop mine to weld up holes from a roof rack.

Custom tray from @NCTrey133 complete. Just need to add the rubber flooring and taillights.

P0171 hit me after taking the air filter out and cleaning it. The intake hose was cracked almost completely through on the flex portion by the throttle body. That 26 year intake hose was a bear to get off so I loosened the clamps and split it down the middle in order for it to come loose. While I was in there I was going to clean the throttle body but it was in great shape.

Nice work. Simple, clean, flexible and seems very functional.
