Does anybody have a structurally sound way of reinstalling that thing much higher - maybe between the frame rails so the hitch insert is aligned with the stock bumper and actually penetrating thru the bumper face? Otherwise, it’s just hanging down reducing departure angle. Ouch.

Soo, I have been thinking for a while about flipping my receiver hitch that I was blessed with on my 80. It turned out to be super easy and looks pretty good as well. The receiver I have is the kind that is welded to the bottom of the main receiver bar that runs from frame rail to frame rail...
Well i managed to somewhat improve a huge rust blister on the ps rear door. Looks a little less like crap now. Did the bottom of the rear hatch and deleted the toyota emblem but kept the LC badge. There is also a small dent on the tailgate that got some lovin. Same as before, take down to steel...

There are several done this last way as base for bumper. Kid glove, war dam eagle, etc
I thought I had seen one flipped and trimmed to come through the center of the rear crossmember but can’t find at the moment.

Pics of what I’m talking about. (My truck years ago in photos)
Also, this does not rely solely on the bumper for support/structure. There are two triangulated braces included that tie into existing treaded holes in the frame.

Lol... Like it wasn’t there. It regularly pulled thousands of pounds worth of boat and trailer for years. Also a tandem axle trailer full of trash, yard debris, lumber, you name it.
Also had to use it for a mud recovery of a k5 on tons, 37s when bag of shackles was missing. 6in drop hitch was bent. Cross member- not whatsoever. Still have the hitch and can take photo.
Boredom. I like the look of my old rims but hated the color. Almost pulled the trigger to take advantage of the 4wheelparts no tax and free delivery deal on 5 rims.
Problem: I didn’t like any of the styles except the ones I already have. The “bronze” wheels they had looked more gold.
VTX and SCS have dark bronze on the menu however, I’m not spending $1K just to switch colors.
Solution: $25 worth of dark bronze metallic paint! Edit: $9 worth of paint. I’ll be returning several cans of paint.
Light color body paint should have dark rims imho and gold was just tool light.
beautiful pics mate. Frozen freekn city here, its gonna be hard to get out soon. About to be a world of suck over here to, parks said they're asking people not to use the back country so as to conserve resources right now.

Yes, that’s exactly what I’d like to do. Looks great. Pics from the underside vantage point would be great. Seems like a Slee hitch assembly might be the correct way to go. Thanks everybody!
