Yes but with no intercooler and no labor. OP’s budget is 4k so all options are well above 4k.
so then what would you say is the best option, because I just got done rebuilding the motor and transmission... you think upgrade to 4.88?

Depends on how fast(slow) you want to cruise on the freeway, either 5.29 or 4.88. If you want to go to 37s or don’t mind slow cruising on the highway then 5.29. I would say go 5.29 and 37s and life is good and still under 4k and better resale if you ever plan to sell. And the thing will be a beast off-road.

What size tire you golng to run?

I’m happy with 4.88’s on 315’s ( I’ve no need to go 37’s or bigger, been there & now I’m content to leave my longterm 80 on the 4” lift with 315’s / 34.5” tires) -my sea level running altitude also factors into that.

But a N/A 1FZ w/ 4.88’s & 315’s is balls trying to tow my ~4500# of boat/tandem axle trailer - 100% why I bought the Tundra.

But, house on fire scenario - I’ll grab the 80 keys & use burnt Tundra money for the turbo when Joey drops it.

The 80 *can* be a 1 vehicle solution, you just gotta drop the $$$.

Don’t bother looking at 4.56 gears, they’re a small change for the $$$.
I had 5.29’s on my LX450 / P-metric Boggers that were 36.5” real size. That was a perfect combo. Like how 4.88’s are great if you don’t ever find the need/want more than 35” tires.

That looks like a replacement for a CT26 on a 1HD-T or -FT. Seems like that company does some pretty cool stuff.

What sort of off-road driving do you do? If you're a rock crawler you'd probably be better served with 4.88 or 5.29 diffs as others have said and maybe low range gears. Where the boosted fz shines is highway overtaking, sand etc where you want as much power as possible.

Late to the conversation here, but I can attest that the turbo is pretty darn nice when all the kinks are worked out. Wait for the Wits' End kit, or you can piece together something on your own for about half the price, but overall quality will depend a little bit on your own skill, of which I do not have much:hillbilly: Turbo doesn't help much/at all for crawling, mainly for keeping up on the highway.

I wanna have 37 on my truck with a nice 3-4 inch lift running smooth but i don’t wanna even do it now and slow down my truck even more rn

Yea see that’s why i was going for the supercharger because i figured it be better for the truck on and off road

I very rarely see boost in off road use.

cx racing has a bolt on turbo kit with intercooler and piping that isn't expensive for the 1fz-fe. I want...
Do your search and homework on that one. It has been brought many times here.

Lots of thoughts on the cx kit buried in my turbo build thread if you care to sift through

Well, I am an old man.

Wait, yer older than I am :flipoff2:
