Ok guys I got the kit installed and running. Afrs seem to be just right dropping to 10-11 during boost for the most part. I have noticed if I go up a long steep grade around1-2 psi it wants to stay at 13-14. My only real issue is my long term fuel trims are +10 at idle and + 16 ish while driving. I tried to do a boost leak test but can’t figure out how to do it on a supercharger. I tried going from the intake but blew out the throttle body seal and had to pull it apart and put more gasket maker in there. Also my boost gauge only reads 5-6 at wot and this is a 7 psi pulley. It is a s***ty gauge form advanced so that could be the problem. All in all I’m happy with this kit. Boost is so instant it really feels like all motor just way more power. And it sounds like a damn hellcat at high rpm. Also the belt is super easy to pull off and zip tie the bypass valve if you wanted to run it with no boost it runs like it’s stock like that. Tried to attach a video of revving it for you guys but can’t figure it out

Think I found my vacuum leak and possibly boost leak? Looks like the supercharger flange the throttle body bolts to is not the exact outline of the throttle body and actually comes in enough to leave a hole from the throttle body about the sensors open. How can I plug this hole

I plugged that hole and figured out the bypass valve was hooked up wrong. It now makes 10 psi instantly. Afrs are good still but I think I can hear either detonation or soemthing rattling. I assume I need to either up the octane or pull some timing. I’m gonna throw in some octane booster and see if I can get rid of the noise. The noise occurs even at 10.5-11 afr.

What Octane fuel are you currently using with the SC?

This can be an issue on trucks pushing more boost without any way to control the timing. Usually you would like to remove 1-1.5 degrees per pound of boost so if you are at 10psi you should be 10-15 degrees retarded timing, especially if the boost is immediate you are at very high risk for detonation.

Would it be a bad idea to either throw in some legit octane booster or throw in a galllon of e85 to up the knock threshold to get me by for a couple weeks?

Wouldn't risk it personally unless like building motors and want to rebuild your 1FZ. Sure it may get you by but why risk it? You said yourself its easy to bypass and make it run NA. Just do that for a few weeks until you can get the tuning sorted. While that's the boring answer, rebuilding the motor will take a lot longer than a couple weeks.

i added octane booster per directions it should have added about 4 points. Completely got rid of the pinging and holy moly this thing rips. I will bypass the supercharger until I get the xede hooked up. I downloaded the 2 maps it came with one for high octane and one for low. It also came with a switch to flip back and forth I’m sure one of the maps will suit me well

Well I for one apologize for doubting your ability to take the road less traveled here- thanks for going for it and documenting a long the way 🍻
Yeah I was a little nervous since it’s from Australia but honestly these guys answered any questions I had and I had plenty during the install

Another cool feature of this kit is This harness came with jumper plugs so you can unplug the xede and plugs these in and it bypasses the spliced wires. I assume so I could still bypass the supercharger and not have tune issues

Got the xede wired in yesterday it really wasn’t as complicated as I initially thought. It was like 6 wires from the ecu I had to mess with. Got it hooked up and had to configure the timing pattern off the website and that didn’t work so they had to send me a custom one. Maybe the Australian ecu has a different timing pattern? Got it running still trying to figure out how to flash the base maps. I don’t have the injectors hooked up with fuel lines yet I was hoping I could flash the map and at least run it with timing pulled.

I can’t get this xede to work. It has the tunes loaded but for some reason it is flashing orange and is supposed to be green ( active ) or red (inactive). I don’t know if I have a defective one or what. Iv been emailing back and forth with the company but nothings has worked so far. Wiring was triple checked and the truck runs fine no codes just won’t go into an active mode. Anyone running a good engine management system? I want a haltech but the automatic transmission seems like an issue.

Sounds like you need to get xede on the phone. I used a split second piggy back ecu on my 4runner. Have you tried backing off the timing 5 degrees with the distributor?

It cost an arm and a leg to talk on the phone they are in Australia. That was my next thought was using the distributor to back off timing. Maybe use a split second enricher for mild boost. And a split second controller for the injectors. That just seems like a lot when this xede should do it all.

You can also use water injection or meth injection. My split second piggyback controlled a 7th injector and adjusted ignition timing. But ya just back the timing off with the distributor and see what happens. I think if I recall you jump T to TE1 to adjust it.

Well looks like I missed the boat on split second they closed. Can’t order stuff anymore
