Hi - just completed a supercharger install on my 97 LC and after 30-40 miles on it I went to replace the hose clamps (didnt like the ones it came with) and noticed blue oil in the intake and hoses after the supercharger. After a quick search I am assuming this from the supercharger? The supercharger was purchased from another member and was rebuilt by Jon Bond with the oil already filled. I didnt do anything other than follow the manufacturer install instructions. Is this normal or should I be concerned and trying to track down a leak at this point? It seems like it is an excessive amount, but it could just be that it was accidentally overfilled from JB?

Thanks for the reply. I would be happy if it was that, unfortunately the JB Superchager Oil is Indigo Blue, and i am pretty sure thats what it is. I am thinking my best path ahead would be to drain it and see how much comes out, pull the snout and inspect, refill and see how it goes. This is my first supercharger so my knowledge level is low at this point.

How much oil was it? The breather of the valve cover is routed to the intake of the supercharger. Naturally it will pull in some oil. Can't speak to the color at this point.
Do you have any photos of what you saw that you can share?
Have you tried to reach out to Jon Bond? I bet they would have some input. I would also not open it up until you speak with them. They should take it back if thats a defect.

Unfortunately I cleaned it up before photos :frown: but it was enough that it was "pooling" in the intake runner and plenum. I took it for another quick ride after cleanup yesterday so I will pull the hoses and take another look today and send photos if there is anything else in there. I am not throwing any codes currently, have timing set, idle is where it should be. I did throw a P0170 after install and that is why I was changing out the clamps to rule out leak in the intake path. I installed a catch can between the PCV and intake for this very reason, so I am fairly certain it is not coming from the engine. Because this is first supercharger, I don't know the difference between what a supercharger should sound like or not, and yes, I should probably be working with JB on it, I will email them today.
