Santa arrived.

This has been fun.

I laid out the parts. Installed the side pieces and hose fitttings.

Realized that on a 4 step process I should have listened and had to remove the bungs.

I then took all that crap off and reinstalled the tank towers on the frame.

I used a tranny jack to lift it into place.

If you want a LRA tank in your Pig the stock exhaust location won’t work

Sawzall cures all.

I had one of the LRA brackets on backwards and my passenger side bolts would not line up. I had the drivers side started so I chose to take the bracket off with the tank up there. Wow. Awful but I got it.

The fill hose on my 77 is too short so I’ve got to find something at the auto house tomorrow to get it plumbed

Another bummer is that I installed my rear shackles with the grease zerks to the inside because the exhaust was in the way to grease them.

Now the tank is in the way and with it up on the ramps I could not dissect them and install them correctly. I guess I’ll tackle that job when I kill the bushings.

This question may have been addressed in your thread already but............ You’re building this to keep - right? 🔧🔧

My new strategy with Cruisers is to spend 2x more than they are worth in order to not get tempted to sell them.

I thought you were supposed to spend countless years, dump 2~3x more than what it's worth, then sell it on mud as a project for 1/2 it's value because it only needs a "few things" buttoned up???

Hahaha. Yeah. That’s all the rage.

It’s about 3 years old. It stays under cover so it’s clean most of the time
And it’s the wrong color. Green is the correct color :p, even dirty.

Now that’s a tractor!

Back to the Warthog.

My fill tube was not long enough and finding that part was going to suck.

I did find some 2” fuel line and grabbed a filler neck off the parts pig and made a Union

Also the gaskets on the parts pig were better. It’s all in and sealed up.

Now that that damn fuel tank is behind me it’s back to the motor.

I pulled the 60 into the shop so I could make sure I was doing it right and finished up mounting all the accessories on the motor.

Next up. Bellhousing. Clutch. Stab transmission.

Clutch Flywheel Pressure plate torqued to 15#

Realized I don’t have a clutch fork. @USMC22 is going to bring me one tomorrow.

I’ve got the frame prepped for the crossmember to be welded in. Not sure of the exact placement but it’s great that the 55 frame and the 60 frame are the same width here. It will make install a lot easier than it was when i put the split case and 60 crossmember in my 40.

Passenger side you have to move all the hard lines

Gotta paint this thing. It’s 200% humidity today and it’s not happy about it

Giving in for the day. Tornado warnings. Gonna go die with my hot wife if I’m gonna die in this twister

We got started pretty early on this. @USMC22 and I stabbed the drivetrain while @under_psi got the stuff ready to weld

The welding started with the O2 sensor on the stock Pig downpipe.

I passed on the clamp-on that came with the Holley Sniper and chose a small bung via Amazon

Last Lou welded the extension rod in for the stock sending unit to work with the deep LRA tank
