Thanks for the first page update! I'm about 6 months behind you on this project, assuming you're satisfied and heat buildup doesn't seem to be an issue. (my prime worry along with gearing). Question though, is there an upper limit in years on the 10 speeds that Mitch is able to program? Seems like in my searching this topic over the past months, '21 or '22 is the newest or is that a Mitch question?

My understanding is up to 2018.

Update on Power Steering 6AN fittings at the pump.

I was using the wrong 6AN adapter to the pressure side and had a nasty leak. First pic shows wrong fitting. Second pic is right fitting with part number.

Which power steering lines are you running? I had a Gates (I think 400 psi). Everytime I turned the steering wheel, I'd blow the lines.

This kit will arrive today that @NeverFinis recommended.

I used these stainless steel fittings and thier line (also stainless steel)


 
FUEL PUMP:

lots of info out there on how to do this. Super simple. But it’s under the rear seat, remove those and pull back the carpet.

3 screws remove the cover plate

Unclip connector, remove low pressure line (hose clamp) and banjo bolt (17mm bolt). Have a towel ready, some fuel will leak out.

8 or so Phillips screws all the way around remove the retaining plate which the fuel pump is attached to. Gently walk it out. It’s a weird fit so take you time and be easy.

FUEL PUMP PART NUMBER IN NEXT SET OF PHOTOS

Attached new fuel pump (see pics) pay attention to your ground and positive. Positive lead runs up to the retainer plate and into the connector, ground is grounded to the assembly. These soldier & heat shrink connectors are fuel safe. So are standard butt connectors.

Replace and key on to verify the fuel pump primes and that the connectors are leaking.

Didn't think the fuel pump was going to be that easy of a conversion! Thanks again for detailing this swap with part#'s
 
Is the step stool so you or the wife can get into the 80? :rofl: Back in the day, I had a truck that had a very mild lift and I had to carry a foldable step stool so my wife could get in and out. Needless to say she was never thrilled about going anywhere in that truck.
