Gorgeous! Are you vacationing in Maine? Or did you drive there just for a bit of a road trip?

I grew up in the Midwest and have loads of family on the West Coast. These pics have me convinced that I really need to road trip through New England. Amazing.

@Honger

We have a summer seasonal/camper... we are up at Maine for most of July August

I usually work through summer at a warehouse ... My buddy (who runs the company) wasn't in dire need for help this summer

So I had two months off for a 'battery recharge' ... Now... my summer vacation ended ... today :crybaby:

Need to head back to wells Maine at some point and winterize

NE is a beautiful place ... old historic New England towns... Love old homes :) NE sucks in winter however lol ... Beautiful ... Yes... Rust .... Noooooooo :)

Been busy with life ... however finally had the time to remove the rear kids seats and install the harnesses and pads

I have some head rests to install on the conferr rear seat ... got to use a little thought process to keep them functional I think

Son helping at getting the old out and the new in

Looking good. Are those 5 point harnesses? If do what brand did you go with?

I put in 4 point style retractable belts M I wish I could have found 5 point That was retractable. Sometime the kids slump down and I could see how they might slide under the lap belts. As the get bigger and fit the seats better I think it'll work out fine though. Hopefully I'll never have to find out!

Pete

No they are 4 point ... mounts in three points ... the shoulder straps use a common mounting point

I was looking for a quick easy 5 point ... but the ones that were supposed to be easy my kids couldn't latch (the olders were 10 at the time ) and were not able to unlatch either

I went with wesco with the chrome aviation style latch ... very easy to use

Picked up a set of headrests to use on my conferr rear bench seat... a bit too wide spacing for the front oem buckets ... sooo I may still be looking for those at some point

Thanks @Rankuru it was great doing business with ya ... glad you stayed dry down there :)

Btw kids are having a blast with the bubble wrap

Thanks again

Glad to see they've gone to good use in your 40 Series (and to hear that the bubble wrap was a hit too!) Your rig looks like a lot of fun.

Too bad the spacing didn't work on the OEM buckets. I've used headrests from an 80 Series in our 60 Series and those from a 60 Series in our 70 Series and would've thought that it was a standard spacing among them all - even the old ones.

Thanks also for the reminder to come back to this site.

Truck had a great time going apple picking ... drove over an hour to get to Lindsey's Orchard ... but... they are the closest place that has 'winesap' apples

Just one of those things that taste so good that nothing else compares (in my mind lol)

Man I love kids and 40's photos... looks like they were happy to be out apply picking!

Like they say - It ain't work if you're having fun.

@JohnnyC can you tell me more about that seat bracket in the back of your 40?

Is that custom fab, or is it the original Con-Ferr bracket?

I love to see kids smile....thanks

:)

Thanks!!! :)

My kids like to have fun ... they would hear the apple picking stories from my inlaw how he had to make due during WWII and latter during a strike at work ... it's work but they don't care as long as they get a turn climbing up the apple ladder lol

I our area kids having fun is something that seems foreign to a lot of people these days ... as simple as going apple picking my kids got complimented for actually being out and picking ... not at home on a pacifier electronic gadget ... there were no kids around but ours

Kids will be kids even when they are adults ... my kids tattel on me if get too kid like :)

Thanks again

I don't know the difference, but my son started brewing cider earlier this year, and he swears by those winesaps!

The difference is really simple ... winesap apples are great and the rest suck LOL

:)

The angle iron is part of the conferr seat framework... it holds the seat cushion ... I reinforced this with another angle iron on the inside ... not realizing that the seat cushion would be sutch a tight fit after I did it... I would have reinforced from underneath instead

On a more technical note ... I had a few free minutes as my coffee was just settling in that I printed quickly a clear version of the oem interior dome light cover

Came out ok ... need to 'see' :) if it helps or not in emitting more light
