Thanks!

FYI, Custom Coat by TCP Global is the same as Raptor Liner. They private label it and it's cheaper.

Dave, Looking great!!
Did You have existing coating underneath and If so how did you get it off?
Dave

No, I had the tub media blasted and then epoxy primered it. I did have a couple of spots of tar like undercoating where the blaster wasn't able to clean up. I used a flat blade screw driver to chip it off and then used MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) to degrease the area prior to epoxying/raptor lining.

I used Eastwood's 2-part epoxy. Having never painted/primered with an HVLP gun before, I found that it wasn't as difficult to do as I thought it was. I think I got a gallon of epoxy and a gallon of activator for $~85 on one of their sales.

I can help you @meatloaf. I noticed some spots that I completely missed. Might have to order another kit.

did you order the 4-ltr kit? was this not enough for the underside? I will likely just do the inside floor on mine...

Yes, the 4 bottle kit with the gun. Make sure the kit comes with the gun. 4 should do the bottom. I just wasn't as careful about it and should have used a brush on the hard to reach places and then shot it. I have a couple of small spots that I'm going to touch up. I ordered a single bottle off of Amazon. Should be here on Monday :(

I like one extra bottle for the Top or bottom. There should be enough hardener for it.

Moving along slowly. I replaced the direct drive starter with a gear reduction one from a 3FE curtesy of my $50 raffle coupon from CruiserYard. I swapped in new brushes and plunger. Good as new. The new starter is way smaller and significantly lighter. The starter was plug and play and the mounting holes didn't need to be opened up.

You cleaned that up nicely man and made fast work of the rebuild. @Sea Knight needs to come over and give it WALCS obligatory chrome job... LOL

Did the low pressure fitting work for the gearbox?

Dave,
Nice work,
I just got caught up on your progress this morning.
It will be a nice 40.
Gary
Thanks Gary! Still trying to decide between two colors (6H9 Grayish Olive or Cadet/Horizontal Blue). I can't nail down the correct name of the blue yet, but it's the one in the pic below.
