Yesterday was a day in the mud in the Red Hills region of south Alabama. Work related searching for stream access points for an upcoming canoe survey. Red Hills soils are either dry and dusty or wet and mucky. Mud cakes up on the tires and is...
Assisted @cruiserinsanity with the tear down of the 3FE. Actually I don't think I lifted a wrench at all this afternoon on this, just checked on the progress periodically.
Installed Dobinson IMS shock absorbers on the front (replaced 7yo OME "Sport" shocks).
The OME's were toast. I could easily compress them by hand, and the return to full extension took about 5 seconds... slow.
The new Dobinsons were a bit of a...
Installed an 80 series brake booster in the quest to get a bit better stopping power - this is 44610-60570 which is for a HZJ80 and puts the vacuum hose pretty close to factory for an RHD FJ62.
Its very tight with the clutch booster but does fit.
about to be weekend, a friend recommend an a brake upgrade for those tires so I decided to go with fZj80 beake booster form Advics “from Aisin” and rebuild the front caliper.

Entered my local city car show.
Lots of great cars and people.
Won Best JDM vehicle award.
Mind you I had tough competition myself being I was the only JDM car 😂 😂
Either way it was fun and bragging rights against the beautiful Chevy classics I...

If your actual wire is in poor shape ideally you would cut the wires back to fresher area and crimp on new terminals with the appropriate crimper. Or, with the wire harness on a workbench, remove those entire wire all the way to the ECU and...
Hijack!
I received the connectors today…. As I stared to remove the old ones I can see where the insulation is a brittle where it meets the connector exposing the wire, should I just cover it with heat shrink tubing? Or any other suggestions? Or...
