Megadoomer,

Could you talk a bit about your shroud. Was it a kit you modified, etc. I'd like to add one when I get into tig welding.

Really turning out nice and for me a 5.3 and 80 running gear seems to be the perfect setup.

It is a kit that was made for the radiator I bought from speedway. I got their 24 in core and the shroud kit. It was a bit of work because the vortec fan is bigger than flat spot on the shroud.

No 80 running gear. All GM. Just 80 radius arms and thats all.

Wow, I thought all along it was "just" an 80. :) cool stuff. I need to read more. You have all that in your build thread.

My new welder can TIG but the owner cant. Or at least I haven't tried since high school. That kit doesn't need to be welded but it would probably look better. It would help if I had better ways to cut the circle to keep the tolerances better.

A video.

Awesome sounding!
Ya, the video doesn't capture how loud it is right now. I only have about 4 feet of the exhaust in.

Where the Snorkel going 🤔😉🤣

Top middle, of course!

Sounds great...incredibly clean install and mods. Nice work!

Oh boy!!! So much fun. Tidy engine compartment!!

Thank you but there is still stuff missing. Heater and a/c not plumbed and the shower is not in or the intake. It will be better than before but probably not as clean as it is now.

A rare mid week update. Stopped by to drop some parts off and Steve has been busy. Condenser, trans cooler are in. Cooler lines are plumbed. Radiator hoses are in. He was mapping out the a/c lines and waiting for a new dryer from me. I am waiting on a cold air intake that I am going to butcher to fit and a few a/c fittings to come.

Busy weekend. It was a 4 day for me but not really. I banged out 3 side jobs on Friday and Saturday and got a couples hours on the pig. Worked on it all Sunday. Yesterday was back at Steve's with the family for a BBQ and had the first swim of the "summer."

Most of the a/c is in. Need to get 1 hose shortened and another made. Heater hoses are in and we plumbed the heat exchanger.

Exhaust is all cleaned up and put on. Had to cut 2 inches because of the motor going back. That pig is super quiet at idle.

Almost got the intake complete. Shout out to @Calgary40 for ammo can idea. I bit off him big time. It saved time from having to make something but still took a long time with all the mods. I repurposed the stock heater duct to draw air from the fender. Wanted to drive the pig around the block but the ujoint straps were wrong so I have to deal with that. It's coming together.

So the motor has always had a hard start to it since we got it running. At first we thought it was the $10 ignition switch. Then Steve was chasing out wire demons thinking there was a wrong connection. Over the weekend we got one code for the cam sensor but it never came back. Well we decided to put a new sensor in and it fires up quick and no issues at all. So that means the crank sensor and cam sensor were bad and brand new. Now I guess the knock sensors should s*** on me next.

Man, you guys got me freaked out with all the bad sensors. I wanted to replace mine just because, but screw that.
