The tie rod is now in front of the sump part of the pan.

Making a sway bar is really going to be a challenge. That was part of my task today after getting to motor in but we spent that time pushing it back.

Yeah Doomey, those additional supports on the hoops look great!👍

How much clearance between the firewall and heads now that it’s moved back?
1 inch on passenger side and 2 on the driver. Probably need a custom transmission dipstick tube.

you can see the mount is centered.

Sweet, and now you say the headers will work too? Good news!
Are you planning on running a mechanical fan or electric?
Theoretically the headers will fit now. I had them at my house because I was getting ready to send back and couldn't check them. The passenger collector flange was probably into the mount bushing about 1/4". So moving it 2 inches should be plenty.

I am going to use the stock clutch fan. After having electric fans on the SBC I am not really a FAN of them. They draw so much and were so loud. I will put a small pusher for the A/C.

I can't remember if I asked you, but are you using the same exhaust routing as the old setup? I had one heck of a time finding space to run the pipes, but the pto had a lot to do with it. Where does it cross over to the other side?

And it got past the front yoke with no problems. I thought on mine it was tight between the transfer and frame.

Well I have an NP205 and it may be more narrow. The only issue with the h pipe is it can be a collection for moisture. I haven't seen any issues but I do hit the skinny peddle sometimes and maybe it blows it out.

I was helping Steve with his truck yesterday. So for all of you that think I am only take:flipoff2:
He was changing the fuel pump and got some neighbors to help lift the bed off.

After that I creeper'd around under the doomer. In a strange cosmic event my old collectors and exhaust fit in perfect with the new headers. Perfect alignment and drop. Ill have to cut a few inches off where it goes into the h pipe because the motor went back, but that was amazing to find out.

The other thing was to try to find a place for the sway bar. It is not going to be easy. So I have a question and would like input. 2 questions really. What are the holes in the middle of the 80 radius arms for? And can I attach my sway bar there? Its about 2/3s of the total length so I'm thinking about leavers and maybe make the torsion bar thicker or the link arms shorter?

Sumtin like this.
