So is this motor just port and polished and bored out? Or does it have different cams or something?
I’m also very interested in the answer to this question. Must be a magical .1L. :)

We have another beauty being built here too. With an SC.

Robbie does quality work and stands behind his work.

Thanks for the invite. When is your next meet? I am in Boulder but I am in Rising Sun Offroad Club. I would love to come to a meet and get to know some of the folks up there and maybe plan a multi club run. We could even see if the CO Springs guys were up to it.

Next meeting is our formal year end meet, its not as exciting as our other meetings (we typically do hands on demonstrations like tire repair, electrical diagnosis / repair etc). We meet at 6:30pm the last Wednesday of each month (except December), locations vary but our base is Pederson Toyota in Fort Collins, where this months meeting will be held.

There is allot more to it. Call robbie and he can go over it with you. He is very passionate about these motors.

Are you going to be at the next Rising Sun meeting in December and if so are you going to bring your 80? Just interested in looking at the quality of the install. Obviously there probably isn't a whole lot to look at in terms of the engine itself basically just a dressed up 4.5L but just curious of the overall quality. This is something I am definitely interested in doing in the future to my 80. I don't need 500hp just good solid reliable engine with a little extra behind it. Plus I have spare hoses and belts and other parts for my 4.5 now, it would be great to still be able to use those parts if needed on the trail.

Cheers
Yes I will be there around 6pm

I will try to be there on the 29th. look forward to meeting you and learning something new.

I was just curious if you knew since you shelled out the coin for it. Being that it's said to be a 4.6 that adds up to it being bored out which should gain about 5 to 10hp. Then port and polishing should net you a very solid 30hp. If the head was shaved then that would get right up to close to another 20hp. If he installed cams-which is doubtful because few people dump 1000 bucks in cams, but possible, and that would increase power as well. Now if he had stroked it then that would have turned it into a 5.0 or greater and added substantially more power. I don't think anyone on mud has done that due to the price to do it.

I know I am late to the party, but I had Beno send me some J-hooks from when my battery moved in the battery box and ended up melting mine, but I ended up only using 1. If you want the other one, as well as a new battery hold down bar. It is yours for shipping.

I did get the dual battery's back in today but noticed I am missing one of the j hooks. Going to see Onur tomorrow hope he has one.

Nope. None in stock.

I have driven in an 80 with a 6.0l, SC 4.5l, 4.6l and a stock 4.5l. I would put power in that order. I feel the 4.6l is more responsive and very very close in power to a SC 4.5l. With that said if I had an OBDII system I would have done an SC 4.6L. With a SC comes problems and higher ware and premium fuel. so I am very happy now that I was not able to do the SC. I am not a lead foot kind of driver. I just wanted reliability, highway passing speed and power for the mountain passes and I feel so far that I got exactly that. I am very happy with this engine and the work PowderPig did.

Thank you for the feedback - the relative comparison is exactly what I was looking for (6.0l, SC 4.5l, 4.6l and a stock 4.5l). I've spoken with Robbie briefly and leaning towards the 4.6HC. I have a trd s/c that I can use but will need to be rebuilt so weighing the options and cost too.
Thanks

Been swapping emails with Robbie. Today only I’m leaning towards his rebuild with a future turbo. I reserve the right to change my mind. @scottryana has this turbo thread that has me pretty excited, but he's been rather vague about some of the particulars.

Also, I think I'm going to flat out copy you on the wheels. I've been looking for just the right set and I think those are awesome. Is the ring on the outside made of plastic? I read the description on Discount's website and I came away with that impression.

Thanks but I found mine at Robbie's. Really very nice offer.

Yes it is a polymer. Super tuff, I have grinds on them and still look good.
