Fortunately, it all tucks back into the garage with the exception of the tub. I try to keep up on reducing the clutter, but a stripped down vehicle takes up a ton of space.
My oldest will be of driving age here in another 5 - 6 months, which means another vehicle will be in the driveway soon. The, rush, is on to consolidate the chassis and tub to take up only one space.

I don't see much of a problem with any of that, other than it might get old jumping over the rear end to get to the door. However I too know some people who would think you might be the worst guy on the block?
Of course if any of us had that sight as a neighbor we would think we had the best neighbor ever!!! It’s all perspective and interest.

Yeah, we are looking for a house now and my wife has deemed certain neighborhoods off limits because of my "hobbies"
I think that's why my wife wants to move, so she has someone in her corner about the abundance of car projects in the driveway. Fortunately where we are at now the garage is behind the house so nobody can really see it to complain, well other than the Mrs.

Mad thrash the last few days trying to get as many things off of the lists as possible.

Pulled the rear axle apart and finished stripping the patina off the housing. Brake drums are fairly new looking, thankfully. Learned about the park brake crank pivot arm and bracket and how I’m gonna need to replace most of that hardware.

Some might remember that I tacked my spring perches to set the pinion at 5*. Cut the tacks and reset the pinion to zero. Why, you ask? The Alcans I had built years ago already set the pinion to 5*, so with the perches set at 5, it ended up at 10*, which is too much. The lift on this is basically the same as it was, so really there’s no need to change anything.

Welded the driver side shock tower on. Welded some bolt-head stops on the spring hangers, and a plethora of cleaning and details on the frame. Stripped the new inner c-channels.

Got a start on the front axle tear down. Everything looks pretty okay, definitely has some miles on it. Bearings look okay, but the grease was completely turned to an oily goo. The Birfs look okay, but strangely dryer than what I’m used to. Anyways, everything’s slated for cleaning and evaluation this week.

I’m pretty tired. Here’s a pic.

The last puppy, Floki. He’s gonna be with us a few more days before going to his new home.

Nice!

Not sure if you got your rear axle all broken down, but Cruiser Outfitters has all the park brake crank pivot parts except for the arm itself (that I’ve found). Brackets, pins, boots, they have. A hundred and change more than what I was already expecting to dish out for the rebuilds. Now the big conundrum is to paint the arms or zinc/nickel plate them?🤔

I’m still kidding myself I’ll take even longer on this project by cooking up a rear disk setup, but I may come to my senses and just refurb the drum setup.

Taking notes...

Hey Rush,

Give me a day to look through my stash because I went with a full float axle with disc brakes that has the different e-brake. Isn't yours a 60 axle, if so I should have all those parts somewhere. Clean and rebuilt, you can have. Today is our 35th anniversary and I have to take my wife to Lowe's. The things I do for her. :)

$5,000 limit also apply at Lowe's?

What's at Lowes?? Happy Anniversary 😊😃
Too funny, wife & I often end up at hardware stores, our running joke is that’s date night.

Congrats on your anniversary Scraps & Mrs. 🍾
