Yeah, 4” channel with 1-1/2” angle step mounts. I built those a few months back. Not really happy with how they they turned out, so here before long they’ll get cut off and reworked, but they’re good for now - can get to the front door. Was(is) one of the simultaneous projects (front deck) going on along with this Cruiser thing. Made the ledgers out of steel. I pretty much can’t stand working with wood. So I’m building my whole deck so that every bit of wood that HAS to be used, is easily replaced.
Also have a shower that needs to be gutted and re-floored, re-sheet rocked, re-tiled.

No thread yet, I got as far as stripping down a 62 front axle to rebuild after hating the drum brakes, lots of parts just need to dedicate time. I guess I keep hoping the kids will suddenly get interested.

Unfortunately, Rickety Spit IS too short
Have to get a 16’ 4x4 and adjust to length, which will be a piece of cake. The setup will be plenty strong enough though, and is no longer a question in my mind.

Worked on The Rickety Spit all weekend. God I hope this thing works
I’m a little concerned it might be too short lengthwise at 12’. Gonna find out here pretty soon. Ran out of daylight and proper rigging to lift off with the cherry pickers.
Also put the ends on my new 30’ 220v extension cord. Now I can wheel my welder way out in the driveway

That’s funny I just saw that again a week ago or so while going back through the thread. It’s meant to be one of those subliminal details that will make sense later on in the movie. I may have been slightly lit that night too.
