Hey, Mud community. I'm in the position where I'm thinking about giving up my project FJ60. I was in the process of swapping a 3FE from a 92 FJ80 into my FJ60 and ended up pausing the completion due to financial and work reasons. The 3FE is installed (all new engine gaskets and seals, new head gaskets and head bolts.) The engine came out of a running and driving FJ80 with 200-210K miles on it. The FJ60 body/chassis is lower at around 140-150K. The crusier was purchased at a salvage yard in Colorado. Proof of purchase and State inspection and title check is clear. But I do not have the title. I'm either selling this as a complete parts cruiser or someone can go through the bonding process and get a title for it. I just ran out of time...
I’m pretty sure I’m the only one who’s ever done this, but I’ve got too many projects, so none of them are getting completed! [/sarcasm] I’ve got a 55, 60, 62, 80, 100, 120, 150, and a Sequoia, and with all of them seeming to need just a little something here and there, it’s a never ending effort. With that in mind, I’ve decided to sell the ‘88 FJ62 I’ve been reviving after a long ownership by two previous non-car guys. I’ve not finished it to the point I was striving to reach, but it’s quite near that point......and that’s why I’m pricing it by leaving some “meat on the bone.” I just need to thin the herd to keep everything else from suffering. Up for sale is my baby of a FJ62. This truck has been babied and cared for like one of the children. She is garage kept and has been for the 5 or so years that I've owned her. In that time there has been no expense spared in fixing and upgrading her. She has no leaks and every seal has been replaced within the last 1800 miles. I purchased her from another member and drove her from Denver to St. Louis where all of the work was completed. She's an honest running daily driver with excellent mechanicals everywhere and an okay body. She starts immediately every time and is ready to be driven across country today...nothing is needed. Really well built 60 in great condition. I’m selling for $12k obo. Having a kid soon and need something a little safer and more comfortable. I hate to get rid of it because it is such a great truck and turns a lot of heads.
Truck lived in California and Texas most of it's life. Body is in excellent shape. Clear and clean title. Reliable daily driver, road trip truck, and all around true utility vehicle. There's only two small rust spots (2 1/2" diameter) on the passenger quarters near the wheel well and on the tailgate hatch, other than that this truck is rust free and in great condition.

I bought a FJ62 hoping it would satisfy the desire to have an fj60; It didn't. Unfortunately the guy I bought it from didn't know anything about it so I don't have maintenance records. I want to sell it so I can focus my time and money on my FJ55. I am working on fixing some things and will be updating this add as I fix things. The fix it list will shrink as the price grows.
From a rust standpoint it is a great rig. There are a couple bubbles/rust patches here and there but for a cruiser of this age it is extremely low rust based on the rigs I have seen over the past 15+ years of owning Land Cruisers. But like all to many out there, there is some rust/bubbleing over the rear wheel wells, drivers side behind the mud flap...

I bought it from a guy here in Portland who didn't have time for this project, three or so years ago. I ripped out the interior, started working on replacing the upholstery, and then a couple months later I found "the one", the truck I drive now. Ever since, this project truck has been sitting around, occasionally getting washed, taking up valuable space.

1983 Toyota Landcruiser FJ60 w/ Chevy 350 V-8 TBI engine (throttle body injection). I've owned for 6 years and driven all around North and South America - a really great truck but ultimately selling it as I've recently purchased a CJ7 Jeep and 3 cars is too many.
I figured I'll focus on the bad to help answer likely questions:
-There is no AC - compressor is present but the lines aren't hooked up.
-There is some rust on the quarter panels, tailgate, and a little above the passenger side rear cargo window
I'm asking $9250, OBO. The vehicle is located in Miami but ready to be driven wherever - the last trip I made with her was in March towing a trailer down from South Carolina - she's been driven every couple weeks around town since.

This is a 1988 FJ62 in Freeborn Red. It is basically a stock vehicle with the exception of a Terrain Tamer suspension and 33 x 10.50 BFG KO2 AT tires installed by the previous owner. This is a 62 series, so it has an automatic transmission and power windows and locks. The vehicle was purchased in the fall of 2017 from a Land Cruiser enthusiast and fellow ih8MUD member in Florida and the vehicle was serviced by Odd Iron Off road, a Land Cruiser specialist shop in Thomasville, GA. Prior to its arrival in Florida it lived on the West Coast in Oregon. Clean CARFAX is available as well.
