These things work and are totally simple to install on the hdt or hz blocks.

Check out Stanadyne. I buy it by the case from a local diesel rebuild shop. Also scored highest in testing.

Sometimes it's bad trailer wiring...check that your brakes function properly.

It's been -30C here the last few days. Both of my diesels grunt, moan and fart until they've warmed up a bit. You just have to learn to live with it.

I think the orange arrows are pointing at the temp sensor wires that trigger glow plug action. Maybe the dash switch you mentioned is a glow plug on demand switch and the factory’s sensor has been disabled.

Just might be a grease induced airlock, or poorly seated bearing/race.

If she is fine after being warmed up, then maybe you are still running summer vs winter fuel? You may have a vaccum leak. Is the primer stiff or soft before starting? A primer that takes multiple pumps before resistance means she's sucking air...

Squash replied to the thread 1990 HZJ-77 Stalling Issues.
Use a clear hose from filter outlet to the IP inlet. If there are lots of bubbles she is sucking air. Your task is to check every connection towards the fuel tank. Most likely culprit is at the filter/primer. Diesels suck fuel as in vaccum and...

Hi Oleg! Nice 77, it looks great! The HZJ motor from factory that should be the one in this machine, and all diesels only need 2 things to run (provided compression is in spec): fuel and air. I suspect from the description of the symptoms this...

If you're going to change the main fuel screw setting, best to remove the locking collar. Easiest way is to remove the screw, lock nut, locking collar all together with 12mm wrench. Then separate screw and locknut, break the locking collar off...

I expected less in this case, but not bad, mine was completely covered. You might still be fortunate once opened with only minimal parts required. Change out any "O" rings while tge Ip is opened. Test the injectors and make sure the shop knows...

If the ACSD did wear you will have shavings! The finest shavings may slip by but trust me there are shavings. The only way to get mine home was to keep high RPM's because at any idle she would stall. The screen is quick, easy and cheap. Seems...

-17 Celsius or about -1f Use a 14mm deep socket to remove block drain, I don't bother draining the fluid as very little leaks if the system is good. Helps if you remove the tire and skirting. I use 5/8 heater hose, and you can try a brass "Y"...

I have installed these on my HZJ75, HDJ81's, FZJ80 and other vehicles. The key is to get the supply from the block drain, mount the heater off of the frame with supplied hardware. Keep the tank vertical and tie the supplied "Y" fitting below...

My 70s are Canadian spec trucks so they came with suspension seats. The summary by dcruiser666 is spot on. Adding to this, I find the seats even help smooth out the ride while off road, most notably on easier trails and rough gravel roads where...

Squash replied to the thread HDJ81 issues when cold - fixed.
You could try the primer when cold before a start up and while running. Primer should only require a few pumps to get firm. If primer takes many pumps then you should ensure all connections and hoses at checked/repaired. A simple tool for...
