I've been a lurker on the forums for quite some time, but I finally broke down and created an account. I've been wanting an FJ-60 for years and I'm finally in a place where I can grab one.
Looking for something to work on, but not start from the ground up. Would love one with little to no rust, and in fairly good shape. I'd like to do my own lifts and mods, but it isn't a deal breaker if its already modified a bit.
I'm located in Southern California, but willing to travel a bit if need be.

It was everything I hoped it would be. Unfortunately my wife put her foot down. Apparently 4 trucks, 2 motorcycles, and 2 sports cars is over the line. So the 60 is on the block.
As noted in the BAT posting, we have all service records including original Monroney.
We addressed the typical rain gutter rust that had accumulated above the drivers' side quarter window and tailgate, and installed AC system.
I would emphasize that we didn't remove the rain gutter. The areas of repair saw updated caulking but at some point the gutter will need to be removed, the area properly cleaned up, and new gutter installed and caulked.

I have had this FJ62 for over three years and it was a "total transformative project" going beyond any FJ62 I had ever seen. Unfortunately, I have to make room in the garage, so its now time to send it on down the road for another owner to enjoy.
The truck had 146K~ miles on the clock when I got it. The original 6 cylinder was DOA, so ACC Garage here in Atlanta performed the swap of an LS V8 and 4 speed automatic. Hello, I'm seeking to trade my current daily driver Toyota 4Runner with a 4.7L V8 with 166k miles on the dash. I have a 89 fj62 that has been diesel swapped to a mechanical injected 6.5 turbo diesel. The engine has been mated to a Chevy nv4500 with an AA bell housing and the transfer case is out of a 60.
ENGINE.
6.5 diesel out of a 97 k3500, ARP head stud kit. New heads and injectors and head gasket. New water pump and single thermostat. The power steering is a PSC remote resivour. Swapped the stock radiator for a champion 4 row aluminum rad. There is an after market oil cooler, because the Chevy stock cooler is junk. Relocated the oil filter.
TRANSMISSION
93 Chevy nv4500 with the super granny low 6:1 ratio first and a .75 over drive. It has the slave on the driver's side, I used an AA bell housing. The transmission was completely disassembled...

This is originally a Texas truck and has very little rust on it, only spot is a small bubble on the d/s rain gutter above the rear passenger door. I am listing here for this weekend- before I hit ebay with it in a few weeks. It is a nice truck, but clearly not perfect. Cleanest one I own, but the only Auto trans and the truth is my wife says the auto has to go. (To be crystal clear the other HJ and FJs are her's and she won't touch this AT )
I know there are gorgeous trucks on this site, I still think this is better than the national average. I say, great frame, and light body rust: great rear fenders, great lower tailgate, roof line and gutters show rust, no known leaks, bottom front fenders rough, but all four corners (behind bumpers) are solid. Again, better than I usually see.

To make a long story short. As many of you probably know toyota is buying back FJ60s with the seatbeat recall. This truck has it.
Toyota already offered me $8,500.00 to take the truck and crush it. I would rather see someone rebuild it into their dream truck. I just do not have the time anymore, also selling my 80.
The truck does not run, will need a motor. I do have all the grille and radiator, they were just removed as you will see in the pictures to try and turn the motor.
Has the typical rust in the lower door panels and some rust on the roof. Frame is fine.
Interior is a bit dirty from sitting but otherwise still in okay condition.

Full Transparency, I bought this for 10K and have about 1200 dollars in extra parts. I drove to California and Towed this back on a trailer so the price tag includes my costs for transporting it back to New Mexico.

1984 FJ-60. 187,000 miles. NO RUST. Arizona vehicle. Tinted windows, AC blows cold. New tires. Original 6 cyl engine. Original paint. Some dents, but overall solid body. Headliner in great shape. Seats have some wear. Door panels in great shape. Power steering leaks. Drives well.
Selling my 60 with leather interior, sound-proofing laid down on cargo & rear seat floor, and new custom carpet installed throughout. Interior looks nice, though not original.
The exterior could use a paint job; some anus or collection of anii key-laced it, and paint has peeled in some spots, see pictures. The truck is very nice rust-wise, both body and undercarriage.
The truck is correctly desmogged with a City Racer desmog carb (basically the same as the factory carb, but without all the emissions stuff). I kept the distributor vent & EVAP systems.
