How dramatic do we think this change would be in terms of highway gearing, climbing hills at speed, and gas mileage? Assuming the same wheel and no other changes whatsoever.

Very dramatic

The Dueler Revos were 28570r17 and the Goodyear MTRs were 33x10.5s and I could still 18 to 20 fairly reliable.

I run yoko g003 285-75r17s on oem steelies. I am about 93 lbs a corner. They are 34.1 an e load range and I run them in the lower to mid 30s for psi.

I just cleared an exhaust obstruction. Before that if I babied jt I got 17 under 70 nph with no head winds. Any assertive acceleration or cruising over 75 and it drops to 14-15.

It is a beast offroad though. If you wheel its 100% worth it.

I keep all the twin locked Jeeps in my group honest. 😂

I plan on going with either 35x11.5s or 255/85r17 Baja Boss ATs next.

How dramatically worse on-road?

Reality is my GX doesn't get driven all that much, and the main use is still on-road. It gets off-road anywhere from 5-10x/year depending on the year and any of those trips involves a bunch of highway travel to get there. I'd love to run 35"s for the clearance but not if the cost to do so is making the time on tarmac miserable.

With betterr brake pads rotors and fluid its merely NVH. I can corner quite well with my G003s.

Fuel economy sucks unless you are very energy aware. Whenever my partner drives it, they get into the throttle every stop light and the fuel economy plummets. I try to minimize acceleration intensity, minimize speed changes and drift and coast to stop.lights and stop signs where I dont negatively impact traffic flow. Most of my commute is jn the boonies with zero traffic.

Forgot I had my hitch mounted vice. Did a good enough job.

Tossed my second row back in.

No more Lexus mini van.

Its at least 10 db quieter inside.

I’m going to eventually remove one of my middle row seats, not sure if it’ll be the 60%er or the 40%er, depends how much space I’ll need.

There are plug ends to get to cancel the srs warning. Highly recommend them.

I have had them for 3 years or so and cant remebwr where I got them.

installed the csf and it ended up being an ordeal.

broken plastic fan shroud when reinstalling so i ended up. dusting out the plastic welder and fixing it. had to remove the battery to do so which is annoying since i have lots of accessories.

also found a leak. what kind of leak is this? right side of engine when looking at it from the front

Lexus broke mine when doing my first radiator replacement.

Looks like timing cover leak.

Mine hit around 130k

does it need to be fixed immediately or at all? 83k miles 2019
Watch fluid consumption. At some point it will get worse. I would wait until then.

I did about 10k miles i think.

this looks like one of the most expensive repairs. makes the valley plate look like nothing apparently
It was only an extra 1200 to fix the timing cover when I paid to have the valley plate done. So if you csn hold off as long as possible.

Mine started leaving oil on the ground noticeably when it got bad, as long as you keep a good eye out and verify oil level at every fuel change, you should be fine.

IMO: While some timing cover leaks go major like Hiluxforever... most seem to go years and thousands of miles not really getting worse. I'd just cleanup and monitor myself if oil loss isn't noticeable on ground or dipstick.. I more often see those affected quoted in the $2-3K range. You might as well replace other items on front of engine like water pump, tensioner, etc if you get repaired.

Mine stemmed from failure of the radiator with no over heating observed.

With the valley plate and water pump I think it was around 4400.
