Bumping to confirm in my 02 just replacing the charcoal canister with new OEM, recent TB so new coolant, new radiator, new thermostat, new fuel filter did not prevent over pressure and boiling on recent trip to Alpine Loop. I opened the gas cap...

Sucks to over pay but you likely got a great vehicle and miles dont matter much, as I'm just hitting 415k.

A Carfax report is now $45 so there is a Robin Hood element to the black market. PS - I now want the seller to run the Carfax report, at their expense. People who won't do it are usually hiding something. If the car is clean it's dumb not to...

So, “protect yourself by entrusting your research to the lowest-bidding rando on FBM who is willing to violate their terms of service?” Makes sense. 🤣

There probably are other ways but this was pretty quick. I didn't drain the block, just the radiator, put it right back in, parked on a hill, burped the air bubbles until they were out then back in business. Vacuuming the AC system, trying to...

Our axles have a boat load of grease inside of them. Hard to put any back in while still intact. I agree with others, put a clamp on it (don't over tighten it though) and I wouldn't give it another thought.

I haven’t gone through all 36 pages of this thread but I’d throw out there the front differential bushings. I had some clunks when shifting into drive, I would also hear it when coasting and then applying throttle. Replaced two of three and it...

To be fair, some of threw every part imaginable at it and it did work. I haven't had clunk in years now.

Easiest way for me was to remove the radiator.

Park on a hill with the radiator at the highest point, squeeze the upper radiator hose several times with a funnel holding a liquid level in it just above the top of the radiator, while you are idling and all heaters set to max heat and blower on...

Re indexing is free and easy. If you're just trying to get 1/2" of so, that will probably do the job. I got much beefier torsion bars and front end stiffness went way up, not sure it was worth it.

I don't care how much she costs, a wench is always worth it.

This. 285/70 R17, and 25+ to 35+ offset Several Icon wheel options too.

Not disputing the basic dynamics, just not convinced of the measurable difference for most people/scenarios.

I tried every way possible to justify the RTT, didn't make sense for me. Went with a gazelle, love it. A two room palace that pops up in just over a minute? Yes please.

If you do end up entertaining 17" wheels and become convinced that a few lbs in unsprung weight aren't going to change much for you, I can highly recommend the Icon Recon Pros. The little bolts that push up against the bead add some insurance...

Ride quality, sure. I'm one of them, though I will say with my Falken Wildpeak RT/01s, which are C rated, it took airing down and flexing the sidewalls for a week for them to "soften" up and feel substantially better than the E rated ridge...

Unsprung weight = tires, wheels, hubs, brake pads and calipers + Partially sprung = all suspension arms, half shafts, shocks Wheels are only a portion of our total unsprung weight, which is substantial if you've ever changed the lower control...

I regret posting this bc... The customization I have is truly unbeatable. I can mount anything anywhere and can change the position of everything with basic hardware. I appreciate my homemade solution more after a recent trip to the San Juan...

Just for information: I recently switched from 16R e rated to 17 c rated. Not night and day difference but certainly much better and less bone jaring ride but after testing them on the sharpest rocks I could find, the sidewalls are plenty tough.

Not sure I've had any regrettable items on the 100's I've had. Maybe my Maxtrax? They are bright orange and I've yet to use them. They grab too much attention so I took them off a long while back.

My biggest and really only regret is my light bar. 1. I never use it 2. It was expensive ($700) 3. It's heavy 4. it makes wind noise 5. it reduces MPG. 6. It collects dead bug carcasses. 7. its always fogged up 8. I never use it

Yes, I read, and understood the original post. From what I’ve observed, you seem enamored with the thought of the FCS F5 light weight, and reducing unsprung mass, but seem to ignore the less than ideal offset, and limited tire options. Less...

Ok guy. I guess you didn't learn percentages or ratios in your physics class.

17" wheels and 285/70 is a great set up on 100s, and several c rated options in that size. Though c and e weight difference is minimal How much weight are you saving and why do you care about weight savings on a vehicle like this? 17" wheels...
