I have decided to sell my 1988 FJ62. The truck isn’t running at this time. I picked this up in South Texas a few years ago and had a lot of fun with it here in Austin. I drove it a ton and had always planned to do a restoration or heavy cleanup on it at some point. I drove it out to my farm and parked in the barn and last year my brother took it to the deer lease. Unfortunately he left it sitting out and some critters got into the engine bay and made a nest and chewed through some wires. It’s the old story of it ran great when I parked it and now it doesn’t run. I don’t know if it needs a new harness or if someone with wiring knowledge could repair the existing wiring. I was planning on doing the electric and some chassis work myself...

I bought the truck in 14’ and then installed:
Medium OME lift, add a leaf to heavy in rear.
Changed front and rear diff fluid, transmission fluid, transfer case fluid, flushed coolant.
Replaced: alternator, starter, fan clutch, charged AC (still leaks down but blows cold when charged), new belts and upper hose.
2018: New 02 sensors.
Passes Colorado emissions.
Body is dented up but no cancer, (2) small rust bubbles at front driver a pillar and rear...

This is a 1990 FJ 62 I acquired last year. The truck was purchased new in SLC at Larry Miller Toyota and later transferred ownership to a member of the original purchasers family who unfortunately was involved in an accident with the vehicle.
My initial plan was to have the truck restored back to factory spec given its original condition and low mileage. It is a desirable color, has a near perfect interior, runs and drives great even with the existing damage. The large majority of the paint is in great shape indicative of a truck with 95k miles.

It's with a heavy heart that it's time for my family to part ways with Babe the big blue ox. She has treated us well but since our daughter was born has not been getting the attention she deserves. This has been an amazing Colorado rig for us getting me and my family on some great trips, floating rivers, catching fish, hiking, camping, hunting and generally loving what the mountains have to offer. Unfortunately I don't have the time to keep up with what she needs though so its time to pass her on to the next adventurer!

Some background, I rescued this cruiser from sitting with a lost title and a uncertain future. Took me several months but I have a clear CA title. I’m technically the second registered owner, although it’s been passed between three buddies (but never licensed or driven much as in between)
Originally a California vehicle, then brought here to Colorado, no cancer, frame looks beautiful. Only rust is surface where paint is missing (see pics)
