I’m looking at doing a manual swap (h152) to replace my a442f. I’ve got a 08/1992 RHD 1hd-t. I’m looking at the h152 kit on back40 imports and am wondering if that’s all I need? Seems like I’ll need the master to slave cylinder lines/brackets, center console (hopeful thinking), dash blank for early models (also hopeful), and maybe transfer case stuff?? I’ve read the detailed write up on the h151 swap but it just mentions modifications to the transfer case linkage/shifter. What does that involve and can I order the parts new? Any info would be appreciated as I’m going to tackle this very soon. I’ll be making a detailed write up for the h152 swap once I’m done.
Well, I went ahead and opened the check book. Should have a H152 Kit here in a few weeks, what started out as a somewhat poor mans project, has swiftly become a project that's made me entirely poor, pretty sure the wife will lock down all finances after the swap is complete. (Just kidding she's been super supportive).
Mick has also got my harness 99% complete, he's just finishing up the manual gear box harness now.
A few reasons I went this route,
#1 Harness woes - Getting a plug and play harness for an auto is pretty hard to come by, and while I probably could **** around with wiring...
I'm hoping to add some equipment/upgrade reviews that I failed to do last year. With just under 40k miles on the rig since it's build, I think I've had enough time to get a feel for everything. Lol.
Planned upgrades/maintenance in the next month or so include:
-Pulling & cleaning the intercooler just to be safe due to the turbo oil leak.
-Adding a cabin air filter.
-Adding a pre-filter to the airbox because I am getting copious amounts of dust in the filter too frequently.
-Adding a power steering cooler.
-Possibly upgrading to 35" tires.
-Flush ALL fluids.
-I'm replacing my BEBs...
A lot of you have been asking me to post some details on my build, so here i go.
I also wanted to start this thread to keep track of all the things im doing to the truck and help motivate me to see the project through. And i will try to provide write ups of the unique mods for future reference of this community.
