Do you have any pictures of it on the rig without the top on?The front channel on mine is aluminum and I think the guys just bent it by hand to match curve.
Exactly, here in the US Sailrite is a great resource for that kind of stuff and heaps of fasteners and material. That’s aluminium rope/sail track. Comes in quite a few profiles, thicknesses and powder coat colours or paint yourself.
EBay has it and aluminium shops over here sell it by the length. Depending on thickness I’ve seen people put small curves in it for trailer and canopy builds. Some profiles even have end caps.
Double lip could be tapered at front?

This one has a nosing but might be hard to bend. A press might solve that?

Is this now the "Nature Boy" thread?![]()
I understand the stream. My thread is like a stream of consciousness trainwreck…
Changing oil on the GX and tinkering with the cruiser. Shop was showing nearly 80 degrees…I need to find a big shop fan, the beer fridge works good, but too many of those barley pops to cool down creates other issues.

Took the plug out of the water outlet on the thermostat housing and installed the water temp sensor. I still have the other one on the bolt, but I’d really like to know the actual temp.

Test drive, yes it’s convenient…I said it!

After pulling back in and slowing down.

It’s 86 degrees, windy and I was only going 65 for about 5 minutes. Trip into town and back so not pushing hard. On the highway it finally stabilized out at 187F on the gauge which is right around the 88c temp the thermostat opens. On the way in it was bouncing off the thermostat 182 to 187 back and fourth.
Like 1/4 up as always. I’ve only ever seen it ever so slightly above that mark…I think. It’s pretty hard to confirm but it always in the same spot. What was the stock gauge showing at that temp?
I understand the stream.
I had too many barley pops to cool down and took the dog for a tractor ride. It’s not the coveted kubota tractor, but it has a Mitsubishi motor so…
Wait, you have a cooling problem? Can’t help, give it a beer![]()
Sorry, no tech here, just continuing the stream of conscious train wreck

You did an oil change on a GX, I pulled a toasted GX engine!

what killed that? Head gasket or bad oil change intervals on the vvti?
Mine typically runs at about 3/8 above "C" when at full operating temperature. I have seen slightly above 1/2 when pulling a 3,300 pound trailer up a couple nasty Colorado passes. My pyrometer probe is post-turbo and I have seen loaded temperatures around 1,100 degrees F. I back out and try to stay below 1,000 F. Downshifting accomplishes that.
I have seen debates about pre-turbo and post-turbo probe mounting and what temperatures to expect...
I'm still confused.
