In gasoline 2F engines, the HAC advances the ignition timing an additional 6 degrees, and bleeds air into the primary low and high-speed circuits in the carb (to lean the mixture) when you get above 3,930' elevation. I have it on my truck; it...
The general idea is to limit the maximum fuel setting on the pump by replacing the fuel stop screw with a diaphragm that changes position based on ambient pressure.
The pump on your 77 should look like the photo below. It’s basically a silver...
Installing the extended valve took me half an hour. A shortened 22mm wrench gets the cover screw off, and a rag stuffed up there and running the engine for a few seconds got the old valve out. About three tablespoons of oil also came out as well...
The starter relay is serviceable, open the case and give the contacts a light sanding to remove any carbon tracks or pitting.
With regards to the glow system, try bypassing the factory glow controller with a jumper lead direct to the glow plug...
I was in dire straights... I was changing out the diaphragm in my 75 BJ40 this weekend and taking off the throttle linkage to get a little room. Snap! The brittle 47-year-old plastic ball joint end on piece of the linkage broke right into...
The banjos are generally good for life, but when disturbed new copper/aluminium crush washers should be used either side. Where are the actual leaks in the line?
Here’s a diagram of the bolts and where they go on a 2F. The thin scribed number with decimal places I scrawled on the page next to my number is the length.
I need/trying to put this topic to rest, it’s not going anywhere good.
A while ago, I drove a naturally aspirated BJ 60 with 300,000KM. We started it up, I was SHOCKED about how much the damn thing rattled. The shifter shook, the dashboard...
I could have bought a 2H a while ago, (I could technically still buy it now) but it’s from a 1988. For me, I thought having piston cooling jets and sleeved cylinders was the coolest thing in the world for a civilian vehicle. So I had to play the...
They also deleted a superb centrifugal oil spinner/filter on later 2Hs as well.. the buggers.

So if the early 2H's were sleeved then Toyota did cheap out on the later ones. Not saying it's wrong - just another corporate decision at the time to enhance profitability no doubt. But now we are looking back and have the luxury of deciding...
On the contrary, early 2Hs are in fact sleeved.

What is the advantage of two sticks over leaving your front hubs unlocked and engaging 4L? Is this a vehicle with drive flanges rather than free wheeling hubs?
are you talking about the eye terminal? is it a few inches from the battery end?
I think it should go battery end, ring terminal to the inner fender and the other end to the engine block
Thanks for your input 👍
I'm currently removing the bung from the old pump to install on the new one.
The screws on the plate are marked with a marker from the Factory so I'm going to assume that it has a good seal.
If not I can always just...
Check the steering box is still tightly bolted to the chassis rail.. this was the cause of my vague steering - all 4 bolts were loose (found after a full rebuild of both swivel hubs and replacement of all TREs).
Stuck with the 25ft/lbs. on the return collar hold downs. got it all back together, and it is running beautifully with nary a drip anywhere. (Knock on wood) Thanks for the tips.
if they do leak, loosen them up while its running, give the washer a spin and tighten it back.. I had a helluva time getting mine sealed at first on my 2.4
