I am down to the last four... any more jewels out there that need to be unearthed? There must be some awesome older stories out there... just like buckroseau's. Come on old-timers... guide us to them!

This thread by the way is about top notch projects... with good story-telling to boot. Side stories, epic trips, laughs and cries, wins and losses are expected bonuses!

The UZJ40 is getting a lot of love... maybe it needs to be higher on the list... but who drops??? That's the question!

Awl_TEQ's is a good read... may be one of the very best if the frame-off actually takes place. An awesome initial drive... and some off-roading in MOAB too!

Uglina's (78 FJ40) Fix-up Thread by TEQ. Why? An older CCOT restoration (circa 1993) is restored again (2006)! Wonderful multi-year thread with multiple tech tips, some body work, off-roading trips, kids growing up, hunting sceneries... and more. It's now sold, residing in Texas!

The New reading list! Quite extensive. I just ranked all threads by number of views, and then copied and pasted all of the top ranked ones (actually only those with 40,000+ views) below. I figured if many people looked into them, that mans they were an interesting read! This will take a couple of years!!!

Wow! That's an amazing list! Really flattered I made the list. So many of these threads served as motivation and set the high water mark for quality. Buckrooso's 3300 mile thread was my inspiration for bodywork and paint and jadcruisers thread was a mind blowing high water mark for restoration quality and detail.

My Jan 81 FJ40 Frame Off Resto Mod by KY Longhunter. Awesome work. Some eBay titling problems... ethical dilemmas no doubt, are impacting this yet to be finished project. Do read it... lessons learned (good and bad) galore!

Building A Four Door FJ40 by FouadHafeez... Why? In the words of Fouad... "It isn't very detailed or technically correct...it doesn't chronicle every last item done on the vehicle...it isn't hugely informative. What I hope it DOES offer is a perspective on Land Cruisers (and life in general) from pretty much the other side of the world, for most people" And it is! Great vision, good skills, great story... and a lesson in life from the perspective of "the Other Side" that we should all learn from.

ClemsonCruiser has a couple good ones posted in the upstate cruisers forum

Another one to the "Honorary Mention" group... but what to do! These builds are amazing!!!

Project LandROC by Mcgyver24 was a marriage between a '74 40 and a Z28 IROC Z! And another example of great skills and an amazing final product. This was good...

I think your build has been great as well... on both body and mechanicals. Looking forward to seeing it in action in the years to come!

Awesome batch of Cruisers for sure. (Can I just even get an attaboy for mine? I know it's buried in here somewhere...)

The Great Gazoo from 1972! Yet another cool build! Excellent build... and excellent story... going from this (a $300.05 parts lot from eBay):

This rig was flipped right at the end... In a way I am tempted to say that it is too bad that it was "flipped" (see this thread), but fact is those "flippers" are creating a sophisticated market for our rigs. So, it is too bad that the original owner was not able to get full money, but I am glad the 40 eventually went for the right price!
