Hello all.

I finally got around to putting a thread together about the build that I've been doing on my cruiser.

I have been working on it for almost a year now and thanks to this site I think I have gotten quite far.

I found my cruiser in Corpus , but it had Arizona tags and by looking at it I could tell it was not in Corpus very long.

This is some of the specs on her:

406 SBC "Muy Torque" - Completely Rebuilt

TH350 tranny - Completely Rebuilt

Stock T-case - Completely Rebuilt

Stock axles - Completely Rebuilt
(Rear got later model shafts and a Detroit Locker)

4in HFS lift with some really long shackles that came with the cruiser.

Going to try to run 35s without cutting the rear fender wells.

Thats all that I can think of right now,
I guess I'll start posting pics now.

The frame looks really good.

Can you tell about process you used to get it nice like that.

I can't see that pic you posted but I assume you got it from the link in my sig.

I'm almost to that stage, I went and bought a silver star so I could post more pics.

OK here we go again.

Next we started with the frame.

We got it down to just frame, axles, and springs and then started preping it.

Edit: I guess I should have been more specific in what I meant by prep.

First grinded all the surface rust off I could with wire wheel.

Then rolled a couple shops down and got to use my buddy's steam cleaner on it.

And then the Metal Ready.

This caused the frame to have some Flash Rust...

- Then we removed the axles and suspension -

Edit: The flash rust is not a bad thing, it is a sign that the Metal Ready properly etched the metal. Plus POR15 sticks to somthing with a tooth much better than smooth metal.

Summary of the POR 15:

It adhered great and would highly recommend it.

Here is the amounts that I bought to use:

I ended up buying 1 gallon of Marine Clean, 1 gallon of Metal Ready, 2 quarts of grey POR 15 (easier to put the black chassis coat of a grey color rather than another black that way you can see all the areas missed better) and 2 quarts of black chassis coat. You should ,in the end, have a little left over which I ended up using on some smaller stuff including the gas tank. Better to have a little left over than not enough.

If yall have any questions about the POR15 let me know

Here is a link to POR 15s website:
