Completed my first valve adjustment on my '78! Love learning more and more about the rig.
Gearing up to pull the header off to get hole or crack inspected and hopefully welded up! Hoping that it will get rid of the horrible backfire that happens every time I let off the gas.

Started making the late doors on the hotrod cruiser I'm building look like early doors :grinpimp:

Superb sheetmetal work (as I would have expected from seeing your earlier work) Steve

Finished the last of the loose panels (door) and its ready for the paint shop. Started cutting out the floor and making patch panels. Got the first couple of pieces back from the paint shop...

that doesn't look like anything I have seen in the doors or door handles of my early model

Replaced my clutch master and slave cylinders with Aisin replacements from amazon. Slave was leaking. Cheap and easy. Should be good for another 20 years or more.

They both were from Amazon, LLC so not a third party. The master part number CMT-014 was $32.15 and the slave part number CRT-012 was $23.12. Free prime shipping also. Looked identical to the ones that came off my '77. So $55 and 1.5 hours of work and I was done.

Thanks, never thought of them as a source for parts. Guess I better check!

Dealt with surface rust on the running boards. Now they are painted rustic green again like the body, but they look funny. Need to be used and scuffed a bit again. :) The hood latches got the same treatment and are reattached. Installed a grab bar on the passengers side dash so my husband will be able to climb in. He is running out of excuses not to go with me fishing.:D

Uted > I agree with the previous poster. IF you have a thread started on this please post it up. I would love to follow the progress on your hotrod 40.

If not, you should start one so those interested can subscribe (im sure there would be quite a few..)

Very cool !

just found out tranny oil overfilled. probably the seal between the tranny and trans/case. Maybe going to bypass. I just finished putting all new interior paint, seats, the whole shabang back together. Murphy's law in action!

maybe Aisin ?

they sell on Amazon - I bought a fan clutch for the 80 from them - the first one had the Aisin stamp, the second one didn't (just a blank in the stamp spot - I sent that one back, got the refund, done - could have been the right one, but I didn't want to open and drain it only to find it's not what I wanted)
