it's been a while ...but started 'er up, spun the tires (should be on jack stands...maybe this weekend i'll deal with that), and pulled the battery and put it on the tender (temp's around here have been hitting -30F's, so not much work is being done)
i miss playing with that ol girl.....

Was that light an option? Where did you find that? :hhmm:

Not a factory item- I'll take that as a compliment! Just something I put together with a small fog light.

Awesome job on the doors, man! Did you happen to take pictures while in the process? I've seen lots of threads asking about this mod. Would be great if you could start a separate thread and share!

Thanks!

Not really any pictures. Standing around late at night drinking a 6 pack got motivated and just started cutting. However, I'm not really that far into it. I had not driven it in a month or so and was having withdraw symptoms. The doors were just cut and slapped on there so I could drive it.

Tell you what, changing out those headers is like driving a NEW CAR!!! You don't realize how loud they are until you don't have them anymore.

If you guys like I can start a separate thread.

x2. Really cool. There's currently an LED group buy and one of the lights is round. Not sure if it would fit in there.

I finally got a few items back from the sand blaster. After a little rust bullet, rattle can pewter, and a new light assembly, the home for my new license plate is complete.

And just got the shipping notice for my trollhole carb. Maybe it'll be running again by the end of the month!

Had my 76 40 for about a week. Changed the oil , took it down over the hill behind the shop for a little fun. Turned out not to be so much fun got stuck in the mud. But did find out that I've got some transfer case problems, has no power at all to the front end. Will look at that when I get the body off and the frame cleaned and powedercoated. Good times though.

This may be totally obvious but did you lock the hubs? I only ask because I've freaked out more than once because I put it in 4WD and forgot the hubs.

I have an old set of caps, I may copy that idea.

When to the Local Toyota Dealership in Granbury Tx and finally got some OEM wheels! What do you think?

Looks Great. Need another pic of you rear bumper.

rats ate Mr. Reds wires!

When I brought my new 40 home Monday, noticed an old rats nest in the engine compartment. Needless to say they ate some wiring. :o Got a few hours today to strip passenger side wiring harness and inspect the damage. Not too bad... Salvageable. But noticed igniter missing. Put in on the list of stuff needed to get it road worthy again.

LOL, yea they where locked in, I did that trick like the 2nd day I had the truck. Its on jack stands now, can't get it to shift into 2H either. Crawled under and the linkage for shifting to 2H position is held together with a large cable tie...so I'm pretty sure I have some major issues with my tranfer case.

No good - I am just getting done with my case crisis. Blew the clutch gear between the high and low side of the case, of course, while in 4WD low, wasn't going anywhere fast!

Wheeled it!!!!
