Broke my engine! Driving back from the Rainforest Challenge last night, gave it some juice leaving a toll booth and GDGDGDGDGDGDGDGDGDGDGDG noise came out! Like a loud clacking sound! Miles from home, so had to drive her back very slowly! Turned up the stereo so I couldn't hear the pain! Now have to get her to a good doctor!

She had been running sooo sweet up to this point. Purring along with low temp and good oil pressure. At idle, she sounds ok, but rev and the GDGDGDGDGD comes back!

Sorry to hear that Ian.

I'm not familiar with GDGDGDGDGDGDGGGGDDDD noises but I sure hope they're not too costly to fix...

Removed a leaf from the Safari 4" lift kit. This thing has been pounding me for years. What a HUGE improvement.

summer is almost here, so I installed the new bikini top and the new half doors. Also finished the LQ9 installation and it´s ready to hit the dunes this weekend for the test. Wish me luck! :steer:

Put a auto-resetting circuit breaker in to replace a fuse that kept blowing right after the engine would start. Its a short term solution to keep that wiring gremlin at bay :bang:

It's moved!

Due to some management issues at the storage facility. I've had to combine my storage arrangements. My truck has been parked outside for nearly 2 years with the occasional exercise around the yard (every 6 months or so). Recently it acquired a Volvo 760Turbo half cut on the tray which stopped the ne'erdowells from leaving their unwanted crap there.
Now to shift my 22 craptons of stuff from a 9'x 27' shed to 9' x 40' was hard enough and to leave enough room for my H/FJ45 well here are the pictures...

It was tight, But she's in. I had to crawl under the truck to get out. Maybe I should of taken the drivers door off before I put it in the shed...
She was a but grumpy to get started, had to hit it with 24V (12 V system) but once started run like a clock. Now maybe I can get the reso started...

Just tried to figure out some stuff about it!

Understeer vs oversteer characteristics, locked rear diff vs open, sand vs dirt....

And gave up, shortly afterwards :)

After waiting far too long, completed rear disc upgrade on my Dec 74 - 40. Got the most of the parts including mounting plates from poser, and was very impressed. Excellent workmanship and well thought out.

After install, I went for test drive and did a few hard sotps to see if a proportioning valve was needed.....yes it was. I locked up the rears pretty easy on dry pavement and scared the snot out of some joggers. Now that it is dialed in, it stops straight and true, and I have a ton more confidence when I need the brakes they will be there. Glad I did it , should have done it sooner.

I always love to see pics of land cruiser parts layed out on the kitchen counter. It like body parts in the living room. I'm pretty sure our spouses come to expect it.

I just spent 5 minutes trying to figure out why it wouldn't start. Pulled a spark plug and had spark, was getting pretty bummed out.

It was out of gas.

DOH!

Installed my new TrollHole distributor (electronic, vacuum advance) to go along with the new TrollHole carb . I'm loving this thing again, drives absolutely awesome , throttle response is crisp and clean even on decel , plug color is spot-on and the power is way better than expected ! I know...pics,pics,pics....
