Aftermarket cd player, don't like that lower dash pad won't click in.

Cut it back with an exacto knife, round it off, then sand down with emery. I did that to mine and you cannot tell. Its in my build pic somewhere

This weekend I replaced the water pump on my '78 FJ40 (Uglina). See all the details and pics here in my "fix-up" thread here:

Pulled the leaking intake / exhaust. Seperated it to replace the bad gasket between the two, cleaned it up, new gaskets and no more leaks. Also installed new clutch master and slave.

Bought a not so rusty replacement cab for my H/FJ45 it's going straight to the panel shop to be tidied up. I was going to paint the truck blue(again) but this cab is red, so putting blue on it will be a challenge, maybe I'll go for a nice Hermitage/Burgundy Red instead. Save it looking like a fire truck...

Started it up for the first time in 6 months, 30 seconds on the glow, 3 turns of the crank, no smoke, all good.
Brakes are now all gone, hand brake needs adjusting.

Still deciding whether I should put the Fairey Overdrive kitted box in it when I do the cab swap.

Everytime I look at my truck, I can't help but think I really should do a nut and bolt resto...

Mocked up some tube doors

Getting my mind directed toward the first summer with the FJ on the road. Some tube doors to keep the kids in with the top off. Now I need to build another.

Pulled a stump

I used it....to pull a stump....and broke the shear pin in the winch (which happens every time I pull a stump).

I did drag the FJ about 6' along the driveway, pushing the chocks ahead of the wheels.

sourced a 60 series rear diff for the bj42
swapped out a rear hub from the 60 diff to fix the busted hub studs on the 40
made up some quick release mudflaps so i can take them off rather than keep busting them
got a heap of sand and dried mud out of the tyre beads so the swampers hold air

all to get it ready to wheeling next weekend..

Took it up to Bribie Island with the missus. Wished I had taken my camera on the day instead of the ladies little one, the weather was awesome.

Something blew the Parking Light fuse on way home so I pulled into a car park to check it out, missus took this shot of the sunset

Hey DrSlug, your shorty looks to be in great shape! I haven't been down to Bribie yet, but it's on my to-do list. How was the beach condition?
