Hello Cruiser addicts.........this is my build post. Started as a 76 with a 350. Great tub w/ minimal rust and a great vechicle for a frame off. Below are some pics of what it looked like when the tear down started and will fast forward to the beginning of the "back together" Pretty much have mocked up everything short of electrical and plumbing.

got the frame back from Proffitts with the coils in rear and SOA, in the meantime sandblasted and painted frame

Prior post is how everything stayed for 2.5 years with small changes and additions done inbetween work and life!!. Below is how it sits from getting frame blasted again and powdercoated as of last week. Being i was this close, it was senseless for me not to take the time and a few hundred bux to not go the extra bit and coat the frame, as i have stared at this for so long debating if i will ever have to weld anything else to the frame, coating was a great choice.

First pic is of the frame, then next night with rears in , then Ram Jet, with brand new Hughes Trans and 3.8 Atles. Extended the frame 8 inches in the rear, being the wheel base was extended with the 4 link, dropped in a 20 gallon cherokee tank, and homegrown bumper.

NICE WORK. I see the PO had the bezel upside down. I know that you know better than that.

Nice work!

I still remember the drop off at Proffitts three years ago. What are the odds that I would be there THAT DAY?

Nice to see this finally coming together.:)

Question. It looks like you followed the existing lines on the rear frame channels, and the backspacing on your rear tires looks aweful close to frame rubbing on compression. Do you plan to limit up travel, change backspacing, or???

Best

Mark A.

Yeah...i see what you're lookin at, must be the way the camera took the pic. From where the frame continues rearward from factory, rails runs parallel to bumper. Tires should clear frame under full compression by 2.5".

That straight up and down clear, or rocking up AND IN clear?

up and in, i compressed just one corner to make sure.....good eye Mark!!
