• Put in a new front transfer case input seal
• cleaned and re-painted dash knobs
• cleaned contacts for the dash light with a led bulb
• put in new key lock on rear ambulance door
• replaced almost all the screw type bolts with the hex type from Cruiser Corps
• cleaned the steering wheel
• put a Ram gps mount clamp on the passenger seat "oh poop" handle
• put in an anti-fatigue mat from Lowes for a cargo mat
• put in new straps to hold the rear seats in the upright position
• cleaned crud from rear heater and found the valve is stuck

I reset Rana's clock to zero. Also, today I am patching up the hump and going to close up the floor this week IF I get the hump painted and insulated.
Played in the Snow.
Compared how the 40 was in the snow and Ice to the "family" Durango equipped with snow and ice tires, and Limited-Slip rear Diff. The 40 did equally well with near worn out AT tires and Open diffs... and in some ways better.
I'm sure with good tires, the 40 would run circles around the Durango.

Finished up the last of my hinge pins. Remounted the passenger side upper hinge, which was a PITA to get back installed on the pillar. It was worth it for how much better the hinges operate.
Started on the tire carrier modifications, need to order some mini quick fist clamps to finish that up.

Got a little more figured out on the wiring - disassembled and cleaned the light switch, hazard switch, and turn signal switch; installed electric cooling fan, primed and painted the doors and installed new hinge bushings. It was a good week in the garage but I wish I was wheelin....
This week we finally took the hard top off since getting her back together. Part of the reason was because it was so nice this weekend, the other part is because we ordered a Metal tech family cage tonight, so we are getting ready for that to be welded in. The FJ just looks better with the hard top off..
Got my FJ40 back on the road after about a year of being parked. Over that time I installed a power steering cooling loop and messed around with my carburetor. Today I checked the timing, cleaned out the inside, rinsed it off, put on a new passenger side mirror, put on new windshield wiper blades, checked the timing, topped off the radiator, and drove it back up to my apartment from my parent's house so I can drive it to work tomorrow and hopefully use it on an average of once a week to get to work. And once a month to go to the Rising Sun meetings
Happy to have the 40 back and ready for action, hopefully we'll see some trail time this summer.

put low range gears from an auto transfer case in my 40

and then busted a rear hub but managed to drove home

I put on all the OEM turnsignals,brakelights, reverse light, tag light on my newly acquired '68 FJ40 and cut out a few rats nests in the wiring... put on a master cylinder for the brakes and trying bleeding them but still have a soft pedal, looks like I am pulling all the drums and checking the adjustment, probably going with new shoes. installed all the rubber pads on the pedals, and put the pads under the hood so it stopped rubbing off paint. Found a hole in my gas tank after putting on the new gas cap (it wasn't the old gas cap venting fumes, lol) ran the entire wiring harness for the rear lights only to find out that my reverse switch doesn't work....(a waste of 20min soldering the wires on).
Pulled the cluster and hooked up the new temp sender to the gauge, fiddled with the broken speedo (no dice) and installed new backlighting....
Had to run a new wire to my front park lights so they didn't cut out when the high beams were on.

-Wired in my stereo
-Installed cage mounted driver's side 5" convex mirror (soft top, no side mirrors)
-Installed new windshield washer bottle and sprayer nozzle (CCOT)
-Installed new turn signal flasher (TOYOTA)
-Isolated non-working turn signal issue to after the flasher ... hazards work just fine
-Installed short heater duct (SOR) so now I have heat and defrost
Left to do:

-Figure out sticking throttle linkage at carb (not OEM)
-Purchase/install 3-point OEM seat belts
-Purchase/install new floor mounted automatic shifter (for TH400, most likely B&M)

-Figure out fuel gauge problem
-Adjust brake light switch
-Fix [non-]locking center console

This weekend I removed the OEM toyota throttle linkage, that had a homegrown set of brackets built probably 30 years ago, on the Ford 351 Holley Carb. The throttle cable had partially worn through the cable housing, due to the flex on the the homegrown brackets.
Corrected with an aftermarket Lokar throttle cable bracket, that surprisingly, fit through the firewall and onto the stock Toyota accelerator cable with no modifications needed. New cable was cut to the proper length and works much better with no binding or rubbing on the housing. I also now have a proper solid bracket mounted to the carburetor instead of directly to the engine.
Overall pedal feel is much better, with the proper throw range, and a much smoother response. Very happy with the new setup and a 1 banana job for preventative maintenance and peace of mind.

I was wondering how the black rims would look with caps on a dune beige '40. Nice truck!
Tested the disc brakes in the snow. The proportioning valve is set 1/2 way and there was no lock up under normal braking on ice.
My parents along for the ride. It didn't dawn on me until now that I was testing the brakes with my 70+ year old folks. Oh well, adventure is nothing new to them.

Bought my rear bilsteins so the installed will happen this week. Placed the new water pump on the engine and it is now ready to be installed. Picked up my new to me soft top frame, need to repair a few items and then install the soft top from OCD whenever it shows up. Bought a corbeau CR-1 seat for the driver and will get the pass. side one soon.
Hoping for May/June to drive the beast.

WELL... This week i bought the damn thing! 
My very own 1964 FJ45...Ill be picking it up on Tuesday but firstly getting a new battery for it after work tomorrow.
I guess when i post some pics and info on it soon i'll get to see and hear everyone's opinion about it.

Installed the passenger side door and new inner latches and handles on both doors. Parts from cruiser corps. Over torqued and spun off the threads on the passenger outer handle so am running the OEM one again.
Had to remove the lower door hinge as it was deformed. This validated my decision to make the easily removable door pins. Took me about 30 seconds to cleanly sand easily remove the pin and about the same to reinstall. It worked best with hinge unbolted from the door.
Put the hardtop back on for the first time in almost 5 years. The cage I had custom made by Redline has the rear hoop barely touching the fiberglass cap, but the top was still able to seat. Not sure what I'm going to do about the contact, probably will just run it for now.
