I got my Land Cruiser street legal this weekend! :bounce:

Door weatherstripping finished and doors put on, finally got the wiring finished, cleaned the fuse block and replaced all the fuses, replaced the stock flasher with an electronic one and got the blinkers working! I am so happy I could poo.....next weekend I'll be :steer: on the beach!
 
In Rubithon 2008 I bent a rear shackle, a guy on the trail was nice enough to give me his spare Conferr shackle and I returned the favor by gave him my spare longfield birfiled. And yesterday, I finally swapped out that shackle for another matching ARB shackle. Thanks Alan for the pair of ARB shackles!

I finally got my power steering pump remounted and it only took me 3 1/2 months...lol. While waiting on new bolts to arrive in mid December I tore my shoulder up. I had rotator-cuff surgery in mid January to reattach two tendons back to the bone. I am now 7 weeks out of surgery and with the help of my son and my daughters boy friend (kinda hard to do 1 handed and needed help tightening bolts) we got her going.

well, where do I start? Decided to clean my fender undercarriage and all hell broke loose when I took my rancho shocks off with the "rubber boots" I decided to clean the shock by romoving the boot only to find corrosion where the boot was covering the shock. I ordered 4 new Rancho Shocks. 2. I noticed a small amount of movement on my tire when I jacked the front off the ground and decided to check the bearings. Noticed the bearings needed replacing and ordered new bearings all the way around. This lead me to check the disc brake rotor and noticed some movement in what was surprising to me a 2 piece rotor from man-a-fre. The rotors ended up replacement also however they don't make my rotor anymore so I ended up purchasing new rotors that required new mounts too. While on the SOR and Man-a-fre website I saw some defroster heater tubes that I needed and since i was click happy with my mouse I purchased a pair of those. Jumped back and forth from Spector to Man-a-fre and then here where I got caught up in the OEM wheel pictures you all were posting. Did some searching and ended up ordering some new OEM from Toyota and now realize that my new BFG 33/12.5/ will probably be too big for my new wheels. So what started with a soap bucket and a sponge ended up to be a wallet buster lol Nothing is done but I have a garage full of parts and an appointment with the powder coating people.:doh: Thank goodness I have a woman beside me that not only understands my addiction but encourages me to "just have fun with it"

I got the brackets, pump and pulley from Georg here on MUD (orangefj45). When i mounted the lower bracket on the motor mount bolts it didnt quite fit so i had to grind the top right portion of the bracket to clear the exhaust manifold. After talking to Georg that didnt have to be done because it was designed to fit between the motor mount and the block but it works for me :). From what i have read here on MUD the adjusting bracket is designed to mount on the 5 o clock position bolt on the water pump. I didn't really like that so i bent the bracket to fit on the water housing outlet bolt. This makes it much easier to adjust and get to the bolts.

Drove it home without a clutch... Slave cylinder bit the bullet.:frown:
 
water pump blew on the highway exactly a week ago :eek:
 
Tuned the miss out of my 2F, running as normal again.

Finished building my kayak carrier for tomorrow's regatta, pictures coming ASAP.
 
I made her haul a bale of alfalfa because the bed of my truck was full. Knew it would happen some day. I think one was all she could hold because I had to fold the passenger seat forward to stuff it in.
 
Decided to replace the key cylinder tumbler on my 74. As to be expected the "direct-swap" wasn't actually a direct swap. So, ended up having to pull the steering wheel off. As to be expected the bolts for the puller didn't fit so I had to go buy some. Got that off, then got to the bearing from hell. In trying to get the bearing off my steering shaft came loose.

Supposed to drive it an hour away tomorrow to drop off for paint - so will have an interesting night trying to get everything finished...
