Critical Mass

Finally acquired a set of Fibreglass guards and a Fibreglass roof for my HFJ45. My project is slowly attaining the critical mass of all the bits I need to get it on the road.

Got a Second Chance buy of a PTO unit cheap! Just the thing to drive an air compressor or hydraulic pump, already have electric winch.

Got another Second Chance buy of some handbrake shoes really cheap!

Finally acquired a complete matching set of 6 Sunraysa (wagon wheel style) rims the same size, offset, pattern. With good tyres.

Blown my budget for the month

Started putting the drivers side floor in. Cut up the steel for the rear bumper/tire mount.

I love this thread. So much good in the world on a weekly basis.....

I finally finished all the prep for Rust Bulleting the frame. While moving the gas tank around in the garage I noticed some small bubbles under the paint, so I stayed up until midnight stripping it down in preparation for rust bullet on it as well. Turned out to be a good thing, lots of patches of rust hiding under the paint, hopefully this prevents any pin holes. Also blew paint on the me-built x-member, u-bolt plates, and bump-stop brackets.

Rust-bullet turned out excellent (two coats of silver and one of black,) even through the cheap HF spraygun. Will be using it again - on the trailer next time when it's ready for it's build up.

Added some taillights, reflectors...

Fixed the signal issue with the pass side rear.
Also got the rear sill for the 69 bent up. (inner and outer)
blasted and painted the taillight shields since I was already in there.

Body shop finally got around to finishing painting the tub. Olive is the color - the underside and inside tub (floor and wheel wells) are Gator Guard with matching paint color. Real pleased with how well it turned out. Now it can finally start getting pieced back together.

Well, thanks to some of the guys here on the forum, I have addressed my incompetence with electrical systems. Added a new VR which makes the battery not want to blow up now . Also replaced the pushrod cover gasket and exhaust/ intake manifold gasket (which makes her sound a little quieter....) And adjusted the valves and added a set of factory wheels and non factory 34 swamper tsls to replace those o-so-awesome orange ones that came on it....and removed "some" of the rattle can paint.

Stripping it down for some body work, upholstry, and fresh paint. I got another really nice refurbished hardtop top and sides that are already freshly painted. On the move with this thing finally.
