There's a company called XIM that only makes very application-specific primers. They don't make paint, they don't make sundries, just primers. I'm not sure if they would have an application for Kydex but they make some seriously bombproof plastic & glass primers I've used before. One of them is the only thing I've ever been able to successfully bond to Kynar (aka "vinyl") window frames, which is notoriously difficult to paint. Typically their stuff includes etching agents and chemical cross-linking agents, so it first dissolves a micro-layer on the substrate surface then the chemically becomes one with the material you're putting it on.Over the years I have painted kydex holsters quite a bit. Never got flaking. Sand then painted. It will eventually wear off though. Never used a primer. Maybe a primer for plastic stuff will give decent results. Definitely interested in the outcome.
Have you seen “Batchelor Party” with Tom Hanks?ashamed to admit i had to look that one up....even though i was there then......
What's the ZDDP content of that oil? If it's not specifically formulated for flat tappet camshafts, you may need an additive.New oilpan and drainplug gaskets and I'm back in business. So far, no leaks. Yes, there is oil in it.

I'm not going to worry about it. I usually use a Rotella or that Valvoline racing hi zinc oil and throw in a bottle of Lucas zddp. This is a new oil that works differently, or so I hear and I've been wanting to try it. I'm just going to run it as is and see what happens. I do not like the idea of such a low weight though. What's the ZDDP content of that oil? If it's not specifically formulated for flat tappet camshafts, you may need an additive.

That's one good looking Cruiser! Now you're all set to head down to the beach and winch out all the cars that are stuck in the sand.
Looks fantastic. Wish you were closer, I'd give those old wheels & tires a good home....Out with the old… in with the new…

Strange question. Are you on the Raptor Forum? Hard to tell, but I feel like I recognize that truck in the background....
I absolutely love your truck, i saved a bunch of pictures of it when i was researching what I wanted to do to my gen3. I almost kept my 801a wheels and bought a cap because of your setup, but I got a bunch of hand me downs from my boss, so it got a backtrack and some Racelines.
Thank you so much! I’ve always owned Toyotas but recently had a few F150’s and love them as well. This Raptor has been my favorite even though it won’t tow as much as a standard F150. Does what I need it to though.I absolutely love your truck, i saved a bunch of pictures of it when i was researching what I wanted to do to my gen3. 15” steel wheels painted base clear. Are those FJCO Wheels?
I added the airlift 5000 bags and it made a huge difference for me. Even running at 0psi, they made the truck feel more stable and eliminated the highway wobble as i call it. The truck always seemed to have a weird resonance/wobble on our freeways, and that is gone. Its 1000% better when you have any weight at all in the bed or on the hitch. I feel zero harshness or bounce since adding them. Would highly recommend adding if you dont already have bags and you do tow with the truck.Thank you so much!
