Put in a fusible link I ordered from @Coolerman

Also was able to replace the original socket as the old one was broken. Easy to swap out…I did have to drill new holes on the socket to align with the firewall holes. Additional details/measurements in my thread.

This is truly a horrible job. I am starting to reflect on my choice of sand blasting this myself.
With that said, I recalled an episode @BenjaminCA where he used a drill and a long round stock to make a channel sweep. I got some nylon round brushes from Amazon and welded it on an 6’ length of round stock and went to town on the inner frame. Worked well on the areas where there wasn’t any DIY frame coating from PO. I got a long screw driver and removed the chunky stuff.
For the sand blaster, I’ve done all the mods and I am using coal slag or black sand from Menards. The blaster is temperamental, but it works.

I did the same thing and it took off and on several weeks. Air compressor couldn't keep up, sand blaster was leaking, sweating my a$$ off (Las Vegas in the summer). Definitely would have been nice to pay someone to do it, but was nice once it was done.

Bought the seats recently from @clrussell

I wanted to repaint the backs. When I took them off I realized it still had the surround leather on it. Not really an easy way to clean it and reattach so I bought some edge trim..luckily I bought the exact correct fit. Goes on easily, bends around the corners and is pushed in firm so it will never come off by itself. New rear covers and headliner on order.

I painted the backs the same color as my wheels and rear seat frames. Front seat frames will get painted as well. Rustoleum Farm and Implememt Massey Ferguson Grey

I like the trim on the seat backs.

My scout p/s steering box started leaking out the steering shaft input seal. I figured it was time rebuild/reseal it. So far, no more leaking.

Well done. I do not look forward to this project on mine
Starting this project led to me buying a soft top. Project is still in the mid phase.
