That’s where I am at with a truck on BAT right now. This site never ceases to amaze me with regards to the wealth of shared knowledge. I found a JDM BJ41 on an auction/equipment site and was sold on making a bid. After a short period of research here on mud I was able to conclude the JDM 40's were a bit of an oddity and had an even more rare 2b engine, seems like finding parts is a bit of a problem as well. Making a blind bid on a BJ41 that hasn't ran in years doesn't seem like a good plan and certainly drops the value in my eyes....I still may bid on it but at least I know what I could get into.
In my experiences…some middle eastern imports have had some extremely hard use with minimal maintenance and require some much deeper extensive work well beyond the cosmetics. There are quite a few on BAT recently. They all look pretty. But, like some old girlfriends …. I’m glad I never married them.
Again, MY experiences
I used JB Weld for plastic on the cooling reservoir and it’s been holding for yearsTrying and almost succeeded patching a leaky windshield washer reservoir. I tried a couple different kinds of sealer and so far nothing sticks to the plastic very well except Shoe Goo.
Yes, saw your post, looked that thing up, watched some vids and went for it. I don't have a shop or garage atm, so this is convenient. Not sure how long the 'coils' will last, the one I did use on this job kinda melted the insulation a bit. THAT is where they will get their $, selling all the replacement coils. lol. I'm not dreading the body mounts and fender repairs as much now.Great to hear about the induction heat for rusted screws. I was curious who was using one? Induction Heat for Fasteners, Rusted Bolts, Frame Rivets? - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/induction-heat-for-fasteners-rusted-bolts-frame-rivets.1354502/
My Vessel is both JIS and impact driver... Too bad NAPA doesn't just sell JIS tools? Or, stock induction heaters on their shelves?
Free bucket!Never a bad idea.

And bleach….not shown in that photo is the bait and tackle store next to the Waffle House. Looks like they might have been mopping the floors. My son works there which was most of the reason for my visit. As an excuse to take a Sunday morning drive I offered to take him breakfast.Free bucket!
Excellent! I was looking for a suitable replacement for the NLA one!The original intended Toyota plug 90950-01102 is no longer available. This is found under your fuel tank drain area.
This is a genuine Toyota plug to replace the original.
After a good amount of measuring and looking at Toyota “plug, hole” diagrams I found a perfect fit. There are vendors selling this exact “mystery” plug for damn near $20 each plus shipping. This part is $3 from the dealer. And....you’re welcome.

I like the contrasting colors; I have the same wall hanging, in yellow.
@psmbfuerNot much update since the last photo dump, I just wanted to get my 1975 on page 1975 of this thread lol.
ready to tack in the wheel well covers, have to fab up the driver's side rocker panel.
I also have to extend the tub where it meets the fender.
I searched the internet and can't find a photo of what this section looks like (It's usually behind the step)
Does it angle down and then go vertical where the fender is vertical? Can someone post a photo maybe with some measurements for reference please?
