After years of window shopping, I finally bought a 4plus for my truck. Installing now. Be back later with finished photos.

Hands down the nicest piece of metal I’ve ever worked with!

Agree on the quality… and so nice to get rid of the spare tire rattle!

I forgot to report back:

Made an appointment to get my new tires mounted on OEM rims (Came in yesterday=I have to take the rims over and then bring them home to put on the FJ40=then it goes to the shop for work to get it running). Mounted driver's seat with new bracket and installed new seat belts!

Cheeeeeeeaaaaap “A/C“.

Threw on some “seat covers” that pump air. These things circulate air to your rear end and back. They work better than I than I thought they would. Easy to install for summer days, and removed for colder seasons (if you wish).

Love it! I told my girls that I was putting the a/c on high yesterday and showed them how to open the rear windows . Love your center console too👍

Got the axles out. Will be swapping in some from a '78. Rust converting the frame as well today.

Me too, it’s not mine. Someday…
I’d be happy to have one like that to borrow occasionally. I’ll be lucky if I can get enough other projects out of the way to get my 40 into the garage.

Slowly rebuilding front axle. Removing rotor from wheel hub. Used a lead hammer to beat the hub off the rotor. I realized after 3-4 hits that the hub was deforming from the lead hammer blows so I stopped that method. I used some wedges between the hub and rotor and finally separated the two. Then I had to skim cut the hub's seal bore to allow for a new seal to go in without deforming itself to the deformed hub.
